Exactly :tu: A couple of weeks ago I used the Crunch, exclusively, to fix a dripping faucet in the bathroom that was driving my wife nuts.

Crunch was the first LM tool I owned and got me into the world of multi-tools. It's a tool i still use regularly and love.
A great piece of engineering and design!

This is pretty neat to hear.  I would not have guessed a Crunch would be most first LM.  Great to hear you are still getting use from it.  It would be awesome to see it in BO.  I wonder what LM thinking is on whether or not to BO a tool

Yeah it was a gift when I was doing an engineering degree - always a fan of the more unique tools (and practical!)
I now have a Rebar to fill the gap in tools but the Crunch is still fantastic.
BO version would be amazing but I don't see LM doing any updates to this tool anytime soon :(

After years of lust, I finally have a leather man crunch! I love locking pliers, locking pliers are life locking pliers are love. In my trade I use clamping tools daily, so I'm loving having a pocket pair for when the tool belt is off. I've been carrying the kershaw leek these days and I just had a huge nerd out when I clipped it to my crunch sheath. I always have my mini champ on my keychain so I think I've found my urban nessmuk trio!

The Crunch doesn't get much love but I'd say its a well loved tool by those who have one.  I know I enjoy mine quite a bit. I do really wish they'd BO it  :dd:

Got myself a Crunch yesterday. Probably the coolest design from Leatherman yet. Question though, does anyone has the 1/4" drive on his Crunch so tight, that a bit can not be inserted the whole way in? I can only have the bit in for about 2mm, and it is stuck. Any possible adjustment?

I haven't noticed that tightness on mine.  Is there a burr or something there that maybe could be filed off with a very small file ?

The 1/4 drive on my Crunch is just tight. It has some grooves/ ribs on the drive's walls, which I am not sure whether they contribute to the tightness. I tried 1/4" bits from different makers (Wiha, Lisle, Apex), none of which can be inserted the whole way through as with regular drive. A 6mm hex bit went in, though loose, because it is smaller than 1/4". At this point, not much loss for me. I do not plan to use this feature.

Just wonder when Leatherman will incorporate the 1/4" drive with a magnet on the handle though? I have a neat idea (I think  :D) of a hybrid of  ST300 / Surge combo to incorporate the 1/4" drive on the handle. Maybe I should give Leatherman a shout  :D

I got a Crunch over the weekend. Mrs. TJ saw me open it up and says I have a problem

I carried it and it is very compact and smaller than it looks in pictures. The pliers work really well for picking up trash and also the wire cutters thought nothing of some fake flowers for a bouquet. I haven't had a chance to play with the bit holder yet.
I knew my wife was a keeper when she transitioned from calling it a knife thingy to a multi-tool.

I tried some Kobalt bits last night in the holder and they slid right in. This would be a neat feature on more models..

I've got 10 Crunches and none of them have this issue. I never put a bit directly into the hex hole however, I always use a 1/4" extender.

I've used this more in the brief time i've had than other MT's in a whole year..

This is next on my list. I'm digging it.

I feel like I really would have some good use for the channel locks in particular, being paired with the rest of the tools on a LM. Although I also wish it had an awl, I use them very frequently. Since it has a bit adapter of sorts I may file down the small flathead to a point and not worry about it.

More pics  :D

Just got a Crunch and loving it so far. I always feel the flex in other Leatherman pliers heads is a worry when trying to twist and bend stuff. The Crunch is much more capable. When carried with a small SAK with scissors I think this may be a winner.

Is that the lighting making it look two toned? Very cool. This is so on my list of cool tools to get. I just hope LM doesn't make it oop anytime soon.
