Small trip outside today so I had a chance to test new ways of carrying in jeans only.

Carried the Curl, a strip of LM bits and Led Lenser P3 in a Skinth on my belt. Also improvised a minimal wallet with a pocket clip to my left back pocket that carries my Swisscard and a small booboo kit containing plasters, leucostrips and ibuprofen. Did some reorganizing of how I carry everything, tried to really keep all my pockets as slim as I can. Got results that Im happy with.

Felt pretty comfortable carrying this stuff while still having a lightweight carry feel to it. Happy to carry a full size LM + a Swisscard as a backup/complementary MT. And got a chance to ditch a 3cm thick wallet to a 6mm thick one that rides easily in the fifth pocket with a Pokka Pen.

That chisel mod is an easy starter mod: minimal but still useful mod. Made one for my Squirt some time ago and have used it to scrape stuff with and it works well for that. Wouldn't do any woodworking with it though. I wish more MT models would come with a sturdy chisel. (Image removed from quote.)

The chisel mod would be great on a MiNi!

Don't have a Mini myself but what I checked it has a file that that would work great as a chisel. The flat tip area would not even need any filing of the file teeth.

But doesn't that Mini file tip work as a flathead? If it does, I wouldn't change the only flathead of the tool into a chisel without really having the need for a chisel :O although a chisel would be nice on a Mini :)

Good evening gents! Looking good and ready for action.  :like:

I 3D printed a preliminary sheath for my Fiskars loppers chisel pry knife and am trying out a paracord combo with it and the handle.

New for me is the Knipex XS and the Gerber Shortcut (great scissors).

Knipexs are the best! I have a 125mm Cobra in my small trunk tool kit and few 20-25cm long ones in my tool kit at home. Also got the biggest Knipex linesman pliers that can cut pretty heavy steel wire. Just made a pot stand for my trangia out of 2mm steel wire with it and my Curl.

Liking that Fiskars knife. It looks strong for beating around. How thick the blade is?

Just an idea. Could that sheath work in a way that you could put the handle inside the sheath? It would serve as a handle. I imagine if it would be possible it might slip in heavy use if not secured by some detent etc.

Barely.

I would rather have the chisel, as you pretty much always need to pair a MiNi with another tool that has better screwdrivers.

Nice idea with the sheath! Like a bic pen  :D I'm sure it would be a cool option but I do want to have the handle wrapped as a backup cordage option. Next I'm thinking all black for a more suble carry OR bright orange for visibility in outdoor conditions. The blade and tang are shy of 3mm thick but it has taken quite a beating so far. This is the portion that survived when the loppers failed after too much abuse and misuse and since I've pryed fence posts apart with it after hammering the chisel end in and I've smashed it through roots in the ground using a crowbar as a hammer etc...

I'm waiting at the doctor's now to see how the clavicle is coming along... I'm carrying my tablet and some essentials in a genuine WW2 map bag today. I also have a lightweight compact bag along in case I stop by a store on the way home.

By the looks I thought it would be thicker, like 5-6mm. Well, it is a wide blade and by the history of use Im sure it will hold up well.

I would recommend bright orange handle for full outdoor use but if you are not losing stuff often I think black will do just fine. It's more low profile. I tend to notice right away if somethings missing so I haven't gotten into the ambulance colours yet expect for my Huntsman that has orange lanyard. Partly for the looks :)

Hope the clavicle heals good! I imagine you are carrying your bag on the healthy shoulder :D

:iagree: Nice to have you check in Colt.

Yes, congrats on the anniversary  :hatsoff: Which version of the Juice and which SAK is that? Bantham perhaps? I don't have a pocket wrench but I've always thought they look pretty useful in a pinch. I had a very similar looking hankee in my bag today.
