By the way, I updated my earlier post to include some info from Wikipedia about where I was coming from.  Still, it's up to me to learn the jargon here and I accept that. :D

As long as you remember that I hold the largest banning button in the world you will be fine.  ;) :D

But no matter how many times I click it, you're still here. >:(

 ;)
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

It's been hot up here in British Columbia for the most part.  We have enjoyed some very hot weather so far this summer. I'll kind of be glad when cooler weather comes though so I can start carrying my heavier knives and Multi's again.  :-\  It's good to have variety and am glad to have acquired some lighter carry blades this year.

carried the Generation 1 Endura.

those are some great pics of the older endura. thanks sean.
today for the first time i got to experience the spyder delica4. i live in the south eastern US and this summer has been quite mild for us and the D4 really fit in nicely. i usually wear kahki shorts and i never noticed the spyder clipped to my RH hip pocket at all.

thanks sappyg.
I really like the delica's as well.  you are right in that you really forget they are there when wearing light clothing.   I have a delica and and endura 4 as well in white frn.  I notice a bit of a weight difference from the originals and the 4 series probably the steel liners!
I kind of wish spyderco would have left steel liners out of the delica's and enduras but... keep that beautiful adjustable pivot torx in there!  love that feature!  ;)

I picked this one up today.  Like the Spyderco Tenacious this knife is a great value and made by Outdoor Edge who has been in business for years and you can still get some new-old stock if you look around like I did.  This is the bigger 3 1/2 inch version it also comes in a spear point, and are chrome-moly 8a steel.  Solid, well pinned, with zytel it's a nice lite carry for edc especially with shorts.  This one is no longer available on their website.

How do you like that Lake Laredo, heavy handed?

I think it's a very nice looking knife.

I like the idea of its additional lock for safety, but have heard the safety makes the Laredo blade harder to open than most lockbacks.

i really like this knife. the dark denim coloured g10 handles make it go unoticed in work jeans/cargo trousers. also i think the L.B.S system works great, once you engage the saftey lock a little edge sits under the lock back preventing you from pushing down on the realse. i did find that if you didnt push the L.B.S slider all the way ,you get a little friction opening the blade but once youve opened and closed the blade a few times you get used to sliding the button all the way.

i paid just over £30 for my knife, the fit and finish is superb and the brass liners look stunning, the 8cr14mov has held up well its cut rope ,cardboard and drive belts its not shaving sharp but it still has a nice working edge its been used now for about 3months and it still locks up tight.

i would recomend this knife the only reason i wont be buying more of these is the fact that it locks   :( and i live in the uk, so this has to be purley a knife that is in my toolbox not my edc.
for the money, i dont think you could go wrong .  :)

Thanks for the detailed mini-review.

The look of the dark G10 scales, the brass liners and lanyard hole, the semi-Wharncliffe shaped blade, all make this knife very appealing to me.  Looks kinda like a gentleman's pocket lockback.

The smaller version looks like it could be pocket carried comfortably when not using the pocket clip.

would you believe the Benchmade brand is one I have never owned, touched one, or seen in the flesh?  Amazing being such a popular brand we haven't had any around these parts until just last month.  Now I guess I better go check 'em out.

I heard a while back that benchmade treated their canadian dealers very poorly, so most dropped benchmade. Now W&W and Lebaron both started carrying benchmade recently, so I guess that has changed.

What do you like in Benchmade knives any particular model?

I stopped at a small local gun and outdoor shop to have a look around today. They don't have the best knife selection by any means but was surprised to find that they just started carrying Spydercos. I picked up a Endura. I like it so far.
