I used my Leatherman 831612 Style PS To remove a old 1.5 tb harddrive from my computer and replace it with a 3tb harddrive. I also filed down my finger nails and clip my nose hair.

I've been using the magnifying glass on my new Explorer to look at all kinds of things, just for the fun of it :)  I'm glad I broke down and caved to the urge to get it.  It's a very versatile SAK.

I just ordered an explorer for that reason.  The magnifier is an awesome tool and i have been missing it since my swisschamp was lost in our move.

Sent from Tattooine while bulls-eying womp rats bigger than two meters.

That was the main reason I wanted the Explorer.  Plus it's the smallest SAK that has the magnifying glass (as far as I know).  I didn't want anything with too many layers, and I think 4 layers is my limit.  And I have been having lots of fun with the mag glass :D :tu:

It's the smallest readily available SAK with a magnifier for sure, but there are two and three layer models with it as well they are just rare.  The Scientist and Yeoman spring to mind.  Boy I would love a Yeoman.

I used my Juice S2 knife & scissors to clip excess line on knot tying today while I was kayak fishing today for trout on the Guadeloupe River north of San Antonio, Texas. No MT use images on this one, sorry  Had a great time fishing and relaxing on the water though :tu: :D

I always make sure I have a pair of scissors in my EDC that have the capability of trimming both beard and nose hairs.

Yeah, me too.  I think scissors are a must as they are very useful.  I love my Alox Pioneer Rancher, but I wish it had scissors.  Why don't any of the large Alox models have scissors?  Oh well, that just means I have an excuse to carry another SAK along with it :tu:

IIRC, a TRUE yeoman has a different caplifter and it's in place of the small blade, it has the phillips/mag layer, and a scissor layer.  Backspring tools are an awl, package hook, and corkscrew.  I could be wrong on any account but that's what I remember.

The Yeoman you will find for sale is just a rebranded Explorer.  Yeoman is 3 layers, Explorer is 4.

I like the layout of that then.  I would have preferred 3 layers, but I was willing to go with 4 on the Explorer just for the mag/phillips layer.  It sounds like the small blade was replaced by a bottle/can opener combo tool perhaps?  I would prefer that layout as I don't really need that extra small blade.

Maybe I haven't looked hard enough but I can't ever find a real yeoman anywhere.  They are a little rare.

I just tried ebay real quick and there was a Cyber Yeoman and then a Boy Scout Yeoman, which was just an Explorer like you mentioned.  Nothing at all for a Scientist either.  Oh well, I do really like the Explorer, but I would have really liked the Yeoman as well by the sounds of it, even more so if it was available with Plus scales.  I'll have to keep checking I guess.

I think my 14yr old's basketball was a Angry Bird in a past life  :ahhh.
It's list of victims includes -BBQ trolley's handle,BBQ fixed & swapped out of harms way with old plastic outdoor table, -old plastic outdoor table  ::) :ahhh(broken edge trimmed with Aussie Army Swisstool) ,-countless garden pots,- Rain water tank's hose connection;

I have put of fixing it as it looked like a royal PITA , so the other day I got inspired & tried to remove the broken connection with the MT in my pocket , a SOG PowerDuo.The SOG could grip the broken connection BUT as is the problem with SOGs I needed 2 hands on the pliers & I could not stop the female connection spinning, with water escaping.
Enter Schrade 6LC

The 6LC Schrade enabled me to use one hand on the MT & the other on the white female connection  8) 8) , I love these curved shaped Vise Grips , I must get a standard Irwin , non MT version of them  one day

Ta-Da

After that I used my MUT too hammer out a partially broken frame mounting bolt on my Everlast speedball & the MUT & MP700 fitted the new bolt  8) 8)

I used my Vic Spirit X's phillips driver to tighten the hinges on our front door. The bolt wasn't engaging in the latch and a friend recommended tightening the hinge screws to pull the door back into alignment. While there wasn't much tightening to be done, a quarter turn on several screws... it seemed to do the trick.

I used my CS4 to pry the cove off of the fog lights on the Jeep to put 100 watt bulbs in. To be honest, they don't seem all that brighter than the 35 that were in them.

Starting holes to install a pot tack above my window. My newly minted pocket clipped Spirit x.

The lack of a pocket clip is the only thing that keeps me from trying a Spirit X.

Adding a screw on clip is beyond my limited skills as a machinist because of the accuracy necessary to drill the holes.  The stick on clips don't appeal to me because they cause the tool to ride to high above the top edge of the pocket.  The pocket clip on my Surge allows it to ride deeply enough so that only the clip shows.

I wonder why Victorinox doesn't seem to have any interest in putting pocket clips on their products.  Many people prefer to carry their knives and MT's with a clip.  I would think that Vic would be capable of producing a very sturdy and effective clip.

Same here.  I'm not a modder, although I am interested in it whenever I may end up with the necessary means of doing so.  I used to pocket clip carry my Charge, but sometimes (depending on the pants and pocket size) it would be in the way if I had anything else in that pocket.  I also didn't care for the feel of the tool with a clip on it for some reason.  Now it doesn't matter much as I prefer to carry it in my back pocket.  I wonder if Victorinox doesn't want to obstruct the beautiful, shiny finish of the Spirit with a pocket clip ;)

So far this morning I have used the Spirit's saw, file, awl, phillips and knife for a some drywall repairs around the house. Been working wonderfully :) We'll see if the rest of the day brings about more projects.

I used my Surge (and in some cases some WD40) to:
1. unstuck a latch (sliding latch)
2. unstuck a second latch :D This time was a thumb-in-the-hole-to-move latch where Surge's pliers acted as a thumb while I hit the Surge with a rubber hammer.
3. cut some electrical tape

Absolutely! Surge, over time, earned its place as my go-to tool for 90% of house work. I seldom carry it outside without a specific reason (Charge is much more pocketable) but while in house, it's what I grab first when I have a repair job to do.
