It's a very versatile SAK.I just ordered an explorer for that reason. The magnifier is an awesome tool and i have been missing it since my swisschamp was lost in our move. I used my Leatherman 831612 Style PS To remove a old 1.5 tb harddrive from my computer and replace it with a 3tb harddrive. I also filed down my finger nails and clip my nose hair.

I didn't want anything with too many layers, and I think 4 layers is my limit. And I have been having lots of fun with the mag glass

And I have been having lots of fun with the mag glass It's the smallest readily available SAK with a magnifier for sure, but there are two and three layer models with it as well they are just rare. The Scientist and Yeoman spring to mind. Boy I would love a Yeoman.
I always make sure I have a pair of scissors in my EDC that have the capability of trimming both beard and nose hairs.
IIRC, a TRUE yeoman has a different caplifter and it's in place of the small blade, it has the phillips/mag layer, and a scissor layer. Backspring tools are an awl, package hook, and corkscrew. I could be wrong on any account but that's what I remember. The Yeoman you will find for sale is just a rebranded Explorer. Yeoman is 3 layers, Explorer is 4.
Maybe I haven't looked hard enough but I can't ever find a real yeoman anywhere. They are a little rare.

Adding a screw on clip is beyond my limited skills as a machinist because of the accuracy necessary to drill the holes. The stick on clips don't appeal to me because they cause the tool to ride to high above the top edge of the pocket. The pocket clip on my Surge allows it to ride deeply enough so that only the clip shows. I wonder why Victorinox doesn't seem to have any interest in putting pocket clips on their products. Many people prefer to carry their knives and MT's with a clip. I would think that Vic would be capable of producing a very sturdy and effective clip.
I used my Surge (and in some cases some WD40) to:1. unstuck a latch (sliding latch)2. unstuck a second latch This time was a thumb-in-the-hole-to-move latch where Surge's pliers acted as a thumb while I hit the Surge with a rubber hammer. 3. cut some electrical tape
