X. I used to have an S, and I would use the corners of my Sharpmaker rods to sharpen the butter blade. Didn't work great but was a serviceable solution.

Didn't work great but was a serviceable solution.I wish I had been able to get an S model. I have the regular model with the butter blade. I bought the Smith's pocket sharpener that has the tapered diamond grit rod, but that looks like it would be a little rough. I had based my choice around having scissors, but that was before I got bitten by the SAK bug. Now I have scissors covered by one of those, and don't have to have them on my multitool. I prefer the scissors on an SAK over the Spirit's anyway, plus I can just pull out the SAK for a quick snip if needed instead of pulling out a multitool for that quick task.

Don't fret though, even though they have a small bite, the Spirit scissors are pretty good too.
I used my SAK Pioneer to open a couple of packages that arrived today. One contained another Juice and one had a Minichamp in it.

Tested my new PST II's can opener. Didn't do too bad. Then tried my Vic Explorer's can opener and it did fairly well. It definitely outperformed the Leatherman can opener. I didn't test that against the modern Leatherman can opener though, just the PST, which I don't think is quite as sharp as the newer ones.

One thing to keep in mind about Leatherman's can openers is that they are also marketed as bottle openers. So they can't be too sharp, or too well-shaped for either one. They'll get the job done, but won't leave you awe-struck either.A bit of practice with a Victorinox can opener will have you wondering if a dedicated one is really any faster. (I'm sure Lynn knows, hehehe)
I'd like to see a comparison of multi tool can openers. Maybe a can opener race.

Maybe a can opener race. That would be cool. A can opener tournament We did that at a UK meet up several years ago. Had a load of cans to open to set the boys lose with different tools to see which performed the best (that's what they thought anyway; we were actually just making them help with dinner)
