The last time I was at the range the whole family went so I didn't have earphone things so I gave everyone hearo ear plugs. When it was time to go we noticed my sister had one lodged in her ear. So we used a Wenger can opener and tweezers to extract it.
It is also a more efficient can opener.
Sort of reminds me of this grade 11 student years ago that thought he would be funny and shove a jujube up his left nostril. He couldn't extract it, started to freak out. The school ended up driving him to emergency for an extraction. I wonder what the doctor must have thought about that one.

You would be amazed at what ER docs pull out of various places--and then submit to the lab (for medical/legal purposes). A freakin' museum of creativity.
I also find the Wenger can opener easier to use but not as easy as my swingaway...

Both are great designs that can be used for a lot of other things besides opening cans. Wenger people love the scraping abilities while Vic people love the fact that the can opener makes a pretty damn good Phillips screwdriver. I don't mind the Wenger design if the knife its on has a dedicated Phillips on it but if it doesn't you're out of luck if you need to screw in a Phillips head. Not so with the Vic, for instance, the almighty Farmer TECHNICALLY doesn't have a Phillips capability but in fact it does. I can't believe I just lectured on a friggin can opener, I need a life.
I never thought of using a vic can opener as a phillips.
QuoteI never thought of using a vic can opener as a phillips.I think you'll be surprised at well it works.
Maybe I haven't come across the right screws, but it works OK but is nothing amazing. Tends to round off the drivers head a tad as well. I wouldn't use that method personally unless I had to.

I can't believe just how far off topic this thread has gotten lol. Put if I'm not mistaken my PowerLock (Which is the only multi-tool that I own and actually use) Has a copy of the vic can opener right? Either way I love it even when I'm home it's the only can opener I ever use. That is one reason why my kids know what the "SOG" is, because I'm always opening cans of spaghettios or raviolis for them with it.I've never used the other types of can openers all that much. But I can't see anyone of them being as easy for me to use as whatever is in my PL.
Hey I would think that a locking groove would actually be pretty easy to cut into a non - locking componet I'd be willing to do the modification just to see the difference. Now where to get a old SOG Wenger type can opener.
