I don't think ALP is strictly US made or crap, although I'll admit he tends to sound that way sometime, but he has also pointed out in the past that it's not so much US made that interests him, as it's "quality made" in an industrialized, free nation that interests him. In fact, he has also pointed out that (in the past at least if not presently!) he has had more interest in Swiss made items than US.In this instance, I would guess that he is flogging the US Made label as Gerber really only makes tools in the US or in various parts of the Orient, and given the choice between those options, US is preferred. I am sure many of us can agree with that sentiment, even though not everything made in the Orient (and China in particular) is low quality.At least that was how I took this, and I could be wrong- ALP I'm sure will be along eventually to clarify.
