Any thoughts on this knife?  I picked one up a month or so back for $5 at a home supply store, but I haven't really wanted to use it because it feels a bit loose.  Any horror stories, or am I just being a chicken?  ???

Never seen one before, but it looks like a rip off of the old Gerber LST range.
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

I think you paid about $6 too much for it, but that's just me.

Schrade was a good old traditional US name- not great (why romanticize the deceased?) but good enough.  They went out of business and the name/designs were bought up by the wonderful folks at Taylor Cutlery, who had the money to buy it because they have been screwing people with the Smith & Wesson brand for years.  Once they had the Schrade name, they couldn't email the logo to China fast enough to start cranking out the worst pieces of semi hardened monkey sh*t with the Schrade name on it and start screwing folks out of even more money.

I wouldn't suggest using it, as the quality is so great, that the knife will likely fail.  I have seen it happen over and over and over again.  Any company can make a lemon here and there- modern Schrades are made in a lemon refinery.
