Back in May, I bought a MAK-1 knife from Eodtech. The MAK-1 is a utility/rescue knife from Columbia River Knife and Tool. After looking at it, it appeared to me to have an excellent form to be a gardening knife. Now that the season is over, I'm back to say, it is, in fact an excellent gardening knife (with a single exception).
Also, I'd like to introduce "The Brazilian". He's an odd cat who happened into the pictures:

In its sheath, it is apparent that the MAK-1 spent the summer in the garden and shed.

After a quick cleanup, the blade looks almost like new. Amazing considering the number of roots cut, plants transplanted, and weeds uprooted.

The following pictures are my attempts at showing the edge. Unfortunately, The Brazilian woke up, and could not be ignored.

The only downside as a gardening knife is on the handle. It has a built in glass breaker, which can be a bit irritating when digging out roots. Yes, I could grind it off, but honestly, putting on a pair of gloves means I don't have to go at this lovely knife with a file or grinder.
My conclusion? The MAK-1 is a very good fit for the garden.
