Benchmade's new dive/boat knives

110H2O fixed blade:

With grips like this, you won't be able to lose this knife no matter how slippery your hands get!  The bi-directional scaling in the handle is made from "Santoprene" which is a medium rubber type material, which is soft enough to be comfortable, yet hard enough to grip.  It's available in yellow and black, although we didn't get to see a black one at the show.  I imagine it looks much the same as the one above, only with a lot less yellow... :D

The folder version of this is pretty well the same as the fixed blade, except the handles are grivory rather than the Santoprene and don't flex.

If I'd had any sense I'd have taken a pic of the fixed and folding versions together, but I was somewhat distracted by all the cool stuff that I was trying to get shots of that I didn't get as many details as I'd hoped.

I think I prefer the fixed blade version, but then that's probably from my personal bias towards fixed blades over folders.  I can't wait to tip my kayak this summer and test these out!  :D

Thanks for the new pics Def!

I prefer the fixed blade too. (I have the old version of the River Rescue). Mainly because I like that in a emergency situation, the blade is ready to go, without having to fumble for it(hand's may be cold, etc) and open it.

That being said, I'm still loving those folders and may get the yellow to be a back-up.

Here's some pics of the old version(fixed)

That's beautiful- if you should ever decide it's just taking up too much room, please let me know!  :D

Dunc,

The steel is  N680 (57-60HRC)

Don't know much about it myself.  I know the old Benchmade River Rescue knives were  X15 T.N Steel.  Don't know why the switch.

Here's some info:
