It is my birthday next month and my family are already harrassing me for what I want. Due to a severe lack of finances the past few years, my present has usually been a little something plus some cash to help me out. This year they are determined to get me something I really like.

On top of a small list of other bits (watch, gun bits etc) I have come up with a list of 8 blades that I'd happily give a home to. So just for fun, which of the following would you chose for your birthday present and why?

1. Benchmade Griptilian (Plain edge, satin blade, black FRN)

2. Cold Steel Rajah II

3. CRKT Ripple (in Charcoal)

4. Emerson CQC-7 B (Satin blade, plain edge)

5. Extrema Ratio Pitbull

6. Zero Tolerance 0200 Military (Plain edge)

7. Spyderco Waved Endura (Plain edge)

8. Spyderco Native (First gen, satin blade, plain edge)

Please note, I have no NEED for a new blade so it isn't to fit any necessary whole in my EDC (hence the wide variety) and I also hold the right to completely ignore the result and go with something else completely or pay off a huge bill I am inevitably going to get. Thank you

Ben,

I voted for the CRKT Ripple, mostly because half the knives you posted up I already own (Benchmade Grip, CS Rajah II, ZT 0200, Spydie Endura) and the other half I don't want (Emerson, ER Pitbull, Spydie Native). And because I actually really want a CRKT Ripple.

That said, of those you listed that I would suggest you get I would say the ZT 0200. It's a awesome knife. Extremely high quality build and materials on this one, it's a beast.

Although I will add as a runner-up the CS Rajah II.......it's just a cool piece to have!

Much as I hate to say it, I have no interest in a folding kukri. To me a kukri is like a tank- it's big, it's tough, slow, but can take a pounding so it's ok. To try and work that into a convenient package is like trying to build a tank on a Honda Hybrid frame- too much compromise, making the initial concept virtually useless.

That's just my opinion mind you, so I'm hopefully not going to skew anyone else's thoughts with my nonsense!

of course i think Kershaw and Case are a fine lot so my opinion on higher end knives may not be worth mule spit.
