Is ToolLogic a SOG brand?
on: June 26, 2010, 11:57:27 AM
I realized the ToolLogic email ends @sogknives.com
They also share one post address. So it seems SOG and ToolLogic are one and the same company. But I never heard too much good things about Toollogic knives, while SOG makes fantastic knives. The ToolLogic knife-plier multitool did not seem to be a good tool, SOG tools are great. So ladies and gentlemen: Is ToolLogic a SOG sub-brand, or is it just another company owned by the new owners of SOG? Did ToolLogic start as a second brand to SOG, or not? How is ToolLogic quality in 2010?

I really like the look of the card tools, the Vic-Swiss Card "inspired" thing even looks better than the Vic version for it has more tools and the scissors seem to be better. The cards with the larger knives look great too. Are they SOG-like quality?

They are indeed owned by SOG now- it happened a few months ago, and was supposed to be kept quiet.  Luckily I just happened to find out about it the day it happened and made it public for them!  :P

According to SOG, ToolLogic will remain more or less independent, although they will benefit from SOG's larger distribution network.

10-4, I was looking at a TL knife that has a Glock disassembly tool built in and the press release came from SOG.

Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

I have that one, but with a handcuff key instead of a Glock tool in it.  Not a bad knife, although it's not a fancy steel or as ergonomic as many.  It's better than you'd think for a $40 knife with all the extra gadgets in it.
