:mail: Couple Of Deluxe Tinkers in today. Both have hook, wire cutters but no crimpers on pliers, and no pin hole in the scales.

One had a special "antenna" sticking out of it. I think the knife was trying to transmit a distress call using the scissors spring. Help has arrived.

Has a chipped scale..Whaddaya think guys, StayGlow on this one?

The other one is in good shape, but the blade, which seems to have the factory edge, is completely scratched...it's as if the owner never used any of the tools except the main blade, which was used to "jimmy" open doors or scrape out cracks in a rock wall.
Gonna try to buff it, otherwise it'll clean up nice.

Great snag!!!

Awesome Ponch!!!! I got one in just like it today!!!!  The "Camping" Ranger is my most often bought SAK lately.

Be careful buddy...that's close to the perfect field SAK. It might kick a bunch of other SAKs outta your pocket. 5 layers of usefulness.

Tell me about it SG :dd:

It has an awesome toolset and I got it very reasonable  Was a little dirty but it cleaned up very well :tu: I love the camping scales but wished it had the hole for the pin and the spot for the writing pen as well but other than that I may have found my favorite SAK of all time here :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh :D
Can't help you with the pen slot ponch, but you can easily make a pin slot. If the scales are the newer ones with the cavity - just make a hole with a hot pin, and if they're the solid scales see my pic below.

My latest mod. Build one to live in my car's toolbox. Blade and opener layers plus saw and file and a few back tools.

Great job!   Too bad Victorinox never issued the knife from the "Practical Tool set", which was nearly identical to your mod (except it had red nylon scales), outside the set (of which only ten thousand were made, and included the knife, cheap pliers, and a sheath), as I myself find it perfect for my uses.  A four layer with tools that normally don't show up outside of a pretty thick five layer.

Thanx Cody

Yes it's quite similar with the SAK from the Practical Tool Set except for one of the backtool, I put corkscrew instead of phillips screwdriver.

Now this SAK live in my car's toolbox.
