She looks to be in pretty good shape judging by the blade and implements.  Gotta grab these beauties while they're still available.  Great catch  :tu:

Yeah, I think it's just grubby and will clean up real nice.

Here's the SAKwiki page on them. They're all listed as 'granite' but I have my doubts about several. In particular the Andeer green looks like a metamorphic rather than igneous rock.

Wenger has a similar Lithos series.

My latest are these old 74mm SAKS. I really wanted a vintage cellidor one with exposed rivets and now I have three! And three different ones at that: one without T&T, one with T&T and one with T&T and a bail!

And all three are in like new condition. Thank you very much jazzbass!

Yes I think SAKwiki would be the best reference, the names on the back of the boxes does not help much, one of them, mentions the name of a city in Brazil misspelled (Belo Horizonte is typed as Bel Horizonte), I´m not a rock expert but I dont think that exists a rock type with this name.

If you'd like I can post pictures of the labels not sure if it helps.

And thanks for the compliments!!!  :tu:

I have always wondered what the correct name for 0.6200.55 and 0.6500.55 was: Bel Horizonte, Brazil or Pantheon Granite, Italy ;)

Lots of great knives! The 74s are really nice. I just took a detour from 84mm celidors for this one. Curious about the 111mm and this GAK was only $22 to my door. I am looking forward to its arrival.

In addition to generic type, such as granite, sandstone, etc, a rock formation (a specific body of rock) is typically named for a 'type locality' where it is well represented. For instance the rocks in my back yard where I often photograph knives are Lyons Sandstone. That is a distinctive bed of rock that can be traced for hundreds of mile along the Front Range, and which is particularly well exposed at Lyons, Colorado, about 20 miles northwest of here. The igneous rocks in much of the area are the Boulder Creek Granodiorite.
