Hi guys, a few days ago I saw an artisan here from rickinFL that was dated to be from the 60's, and by coincidence I was able to grab one as well, but I´m in doubt about the age as the awl is the thick one, it has a bail and the tweezers has the metallic head. Can someone help me to clarify if this is also from the 60's? or earlier? I don't know.... ???

Thank you!  :tu:

Other than a SwissChamp I have just traded with Farmman  :tu: I managed to pick up a Victorinox XAVT from Amazon US. Currently sat with my sister-in-law (who lives in Maine) so I have not actually seen it yet. It was on for $210 - so the best price I have managed to find so far and I just could not resist....do I have a specific reason for getting one?...hell noooo!

A 1 layer!  93mm bantam.

(Image removed from quote.)

I believe the naming convention for this configuration should be Chicken. Because by definition, a Bantam is a small Chicken.

I've had a peened version for quite a while and it is a nice slim carry SAK with a beefy blade.

Wasn't the Chicken a 91mm cut down ALOX mod? Or do I have it confused with something else?

Anyways, I like the name. >:D

Good memory, that was the Prototype knife that gave me the idea,  It was a pair of ratty old 93mm scales with the holes filled with Lumi-Weld and new ones drilled to suit a 91mm spring It had a 91 blade and combo-tool. Now it has a Florist blade and a standard caplifter and the combo-tool lives in a nice condition 93mm home with 93 blade and spring.

Plugged scales

Early version

Revised Mk I and the final version Mk II

Oh yeah, the SS file is WAY better than the old one. One of the best ones on any multi. I love that thing.
