I actually think the fork is redundant and would rather have a spoon, or atleast a spork with very short tines. Maybe it's just that I'm better with manipulating chopsticks being born into the culture of it but... some cutting tasks I can do with chopsticks, and most if not all holding ones so...

Started using chopsticks when going back to college a few years ago and have been eating with them since. Use my Leatherman knife implements to cut steak, but still use a spoon for ice cream and pudding - and soup. /snicker

Using chopsticks at Asian restaurants usually gives others incentive, yet most Asian culture folks don't eat with chopsticks here. Seem only a few Japanese eat with them, the Thai/Chinese/Other don't.

Well I'm down one spork; I accidentally threw out one of my Snow Peak stubby sporks last night while cleaning out my lunch box; by the time I realized what'd happened this morning, the trash had already been picked up by the city.

I managed to get my hands on one of the GITD Sporks. Found it for cheap in a swedish outdoor supplies shop where I was looking for a Mora knife. They didn't have Mora knives, but I couldn't leave without the Glowing Spork

its sporke like No? Sporkish?

Imperial Ireland Camper $3

needs some clean up but all tools deployed easily and other than what i believe is a high carbon blade the spoon/fork/can opener just need some attention.  blade is very sharp and i was stoked the bail made it all these years.  it looked so lonely among all the knock off SAKs i had to take it home.

I have that very knife and have had since I was a kid, went on more than a couple of Scout camps with me. :tu:  Watch out for the backsprings rusting though, keep it nice and dry.

thank you Gareth, I cleaning it up real good and oil it with mineral oil since my friend will most assuredly be using it.  She was so happy she finally had a Hobo Knife and now carries it in her purse as her EDC haha, crazy food obsessed lady.

Lost my Snow Peak short Ti Spork some time back. Had it in a Leatherman bucket sheath - front pocket. That was back when I was still using the sheath for a cell phone holder. It slipped out once, but caught it in time. Got home later, it was gone!

Was looking for a replacement this evening, as I miss having that little rascal with me. Was great for sneaking a piece of pit out of someone's ice box, or on the go snacking. Was even  BONZER for eating kiwi fruit. The LFM spork just is not the same...

Came across something that I am not sure if is new, but sharing it:

Snow Peak Ti Colored Spork
BLUE, GREEN, PURPLE

Features:

• Twice the weight savings--not only is titanium light, but this is the only utensil you will need.
• Designed deep enough to function as a spoon but with four prongs for normal fork functionality.
• Titanium leaves no metallic smell or taste and will not rust.
• Non-paint electric ionization process creates a spork with a safe vibrant color.

See more at: http://www.snowpeak.com/tableware/cutlery/titanium-colored-spork.html#sthash.dmvOBHcV.dpuf

Unfortunately Snow peak does not have these colors for the short spork - the one I prefer.

Those are pretty cool IMO.  I still like my short Snow Peak a lot as well, but I do find it little too short sometimes.  Certainly not long enough to eat Pot Noodles with. :D

Wonder how one bends a titanium handle over to make a U. The short spork is often a tad too short, yet these handles look far too long. if only there was a way to achieve a happy medium.

Oh well, ordered the purple one.  :D

Ordered directly from Snow Peak in Portland, Oregon - arrived two days later via snail mail.  :mail:

Showing both sides with a Leatherman Skeletool CX

Holding the spork. The short spork is wider and easier to hold than this slimmer handle. This makes it appear more like a normal spoon 'cept the spork portion is about tablespoon sized.

The under side is not as uniformly colored as the front is, not that is matters.

Back of the packaging card reads as follows:
• Weight: 1/2 Oz. - 16 grams
• Material: Premium Grade Titanium
• The anodized process for titanium is ink free and completely safe, however abrasions over time may rub off the color.
• Use a soft cloth when washing, and wash by hand only.
• Handling over an open flame will result in discoloration.

Made in Japan.
