Jetflames are a must for cigars- Zippos, as much as I like them, should be made illegal for use with a good cigar as it ruins the flavor!

A Zippo is not a no-no in, and of, itself. It's the lighter fluid. This guy wrote what I've been telling my friends for a while now...he sums it up nicely. Written by a Travis Wingert in a post made to alt.smokers.cigars, 1-12-98:

"This popular idea stems from how smells, scents, and aromas can help or hinder your enjoyment of something, in this case, cigars.  The smell of a Zippo, while distinct and enjoyable to some (like me) can be negative when
use in conjunction with a fine cigar.  Letting the Zippo burn for a few seconds before lighting the cigar will remove most of the fluid taste from the experience.  You may get a hint of the fluid, but it will lessen
quickly.  Most of what people associate with reasons not to use a Zippo they attribute to taste, but I argue that it is the omnipresent smell of Zippo fluid that can override the aromas and nuances of a fine cigar.  Few people
smoke while the have a head cold and it is because they cannot enjoy the cigar fully without the imparts of the aroma.  Try it.  Hold you nose shut as you smoke.  How does the cigar taste?  Then light a cigar with a Zippo
while trying to hold your nose shut.  This will be a little difficult, but do it for science.  I suggest using a Zippo indoors or in zero wind.  The Zippo may not go out in a breeze but it is damn near impossible to light a
large ring cigar with the flame dancing around."

FWIW, there's two ways to using your trusty Zippo with cigars. Zippo now has a less odorous fluid available. I've not tried it yet.  Also, there is a cool torch-flame insert made for Zippos. The company is Z-Plus and it's been getting good reviews. At around $12 it seems like a pretty sweet deal and I can see picking one up in the near future. Every time I'm out shopping I forget to look for it though!  :-[

You can see the 1926 IMCO I often carry in the pic below.  Lately I've been carrying a survival lighter on my keychain instead.:

I like old imco's.  A lot of people still use them so they must be pretty solid.

Look on ebay.  They often have vintage ones that go for next to nothing.  If I stumble across any I will let you know.

That's a leather coin holder.  You can call it a coin purse too, if you like, you certainly won't offend me.  :P

It serves two purposes for me.  The obvious one--it holds coins!  Actually, you can see the edges of some coins in there if you look closely.  It holds the coins together well enough that they don't make noise when I'm walking.  The other purpose is that it sits next to my SAK in my left pocket and keeps the knife vertical.  I can't stand having a knife lay horizontal in the bottom of my pocket.

I highly recommend them.  They are very durable, keep your pockets organized and open with a little squeeze.

Unfortunately, mine isn't the tactical version.  The tactical version has a micarta base with retractable throwing-star blades.  The micarta allows the mall ninjas more kung-fu grip options.

I must admit that I do carry some copper in mine, but I like to keep it to a minimum.

While it may not be as cool as a Zippo. For along time I have been carrying a Ronson Jet light. There cheap around $4, refillable and reliable. Plus I don't care if they get beat up in my pocket.

Well my lighter has finally arrived!!  :D  And it is great.

Problem is I like it TOO much and am paranoid about losing it so it will probably spend its life sitting in a safe place.  ::)

I did get that other one as well.  It is from Russia and not as "pretty" as my first one, but just as unique.  For those in the know, you can appreciate how unique this is.  The wick cover is quite clever and I have not seen anything with this before.

This one I will be EDCing.
