Nice RRs.  I believe the Reserve are D2 steel?

I think that is at least generally true.

This is the RRR Common Stock Pattern.  (No one has trademarked the term “stockman”, have they?) It’s a full size (4 1/4” closed) stockman in D2 and black canvas micarta.

F&F on my example are very good.

This was my one knife for a 30-day SAK-Alike challenge a few years ago, and it was more than adequate for everything I put it up against.

Like some other knives in this series, it is quite beefy.  I was actually surprised it only came in about 10% heavier than a comparable Case 75 pattern Large Stockman, i.e. 4.0 ounces vs. 3.6 ounces on my scale.

I really like the combination of two knife blades and the cap lifter/flat screwdriver.  I appreciate having a “clean” blade and a “dirty” blade, and the substitution of the cap lifter/flat screwdriver for the third knife blade traditionally found on stockman knives enhances the overall utility of the knife.

One opportunity for improvement is that the corners of the bolsters and back corners of the blades are actually uncomfortably sharp in hand and potentially in pocket.  A bit of rounding or chamfering would have been welcome here.

Awesome RRs everyone.
I've gotten plenty of Rough Riders/Ryder's over the years, but the now retired RR232 has to be my favorite as I do so like the 4.5 inch stockman.  Didn't really care for the red color so a dye bath was in order.

I've been quite pleased with the results.

Two good variations of the Stockman.

The RRR models do take some liberties with blade styles implemented to add to the uniqueness of the models.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thanks, Its gorgeous.  RR is really doing themselves good by offering such great looking knives that perform quite well.  They may not have the prestige but goodness they are what seems a working man/womans knife.  A great step into the hobby at more than fair prices.

Bravo RR.

 8)  Thats a good looking group.  Less than some trads for the whole group.  Those covers on the Barlows are eye catching.

It's a monster, that's for sure.  :D  Don't get me wrong, it like it a lot, but it's too big for my usual pocket carry.

Those are two awesome ones ET.  I really like the horseshoe vs R on the Barlow bolster.  That Sow Belly is gorgeous.  I like the shield on it as well.

This is my favorite RR. I like the size and shape of the small work knife, and the burlap micarta looks good to me.
