I have a question for Dunc5. It appears you know alot about search and rescue equiptment and in particular what kind of knives seem best suited for water rescue. For the last five years I have been whitewater rafting and the class of water I am running is getting more and more difficult every year. I have put off buying a dedicated rescue knife that I can clip to the front of my PFD for emrgencies, but I think it is well past time to do so. Anyways, I am very curious what type and brand of knife you would recomend for swifsmurfer rescue situations?Sorry about changing the subject, I'll post my EDC gear later.
The Trident is first class man, light solid, and fast. Its amazing how quickly you can get the thing out of your pocket and the blade out, its almost become second nature to me. You need to be aware of it though, because more then once someone I know has asked for I knife and I can get it out so fast it kinda startles them. Then the next thing they think is you have a full blown switchblade, so needless to say I have tried to tone it down around people I dont know very well and usually get the knife out of my multi for them instead.
