Splurged on this.
I like messing about with yoyo's and thought this looked fun (and well made)

I used to have a rubbish bali as a kid and could do a few tricks.
Bladed versions aren't legal in the UK and I've no real need for that style of knife anyway.
So being a brewer this just about counts as a work tool sort of...right?
.

Cheers .

Around here, I have a bag/envelope a Tomica model was shipped in (from Japan) and it was also covered in stamps. Aside from larger hobby dealers, I've noticed the majority of items I purchased from Japan came with stamped packages, as opposed to pre-printed postage-paid labels as do most packages from other countries.

Well isn't this interesting, our iPad showed up, not on our doorstep like it was showing two days ago but on the tracker a whole other two state away! Oh boy! At least now they know where it is unlike the last two days where they were saying it was going to show up on the doorstep..

Uh, quite a few things.

First of all, my first order from AG Russell. I decided to save up and get three of the four models I had been looking at the most at once: two fixed blades and one folder. I've been on a smallish fixed blade kick lately for some reason.

K-93 Featherlite One-Hand Knife in AUS-8 with the clip-point blade. It's 3 7/8" closed, which is perfect. The locking mechanism should be left-hand friendly, and it's just an ounce and a half.  I wish they were still made in ATS-34, but the only offerings now are AUS8 and VG-10. I chose AUS-8 mostly due to its cost, but it's also a little tougher than VG-10, despite not having as much edge retention.  ATS-34 would've been my first choice if available, however.  I'll get a VG-10 version when the "General Purpose" blades come back in stock.

Woodswalker in the leather hip pocket sheath. 6" OAL with a 2 3/8 AUS-8 blade. It's a full-size knife, but I don't need to wear it on my belt. While I bought it for "just about anything," I bought it with a focus as to be a hunting/fishing knife.

Hunter Scalpel in orange. It is just 4 3/4" OAL, but the blade at 2 1/4" isn't much smaller than the Woodswalker. I bought this one more for general use--and it weighs just a half-ounce!  This is a sweatpants knife that can take on stuff some larger folding knives can't (the most stress I've ever had a lock endure was when cutting up some heavy thick cardboard boxes with a 2 1/2" lockback).  AUS-10 is also miles ahead of AUS-8.

I'd been looking at this Stockman for 2-3 months now. I had some eBay Bucks expiring soon, so I had to do something with them. Brought this one down to a little more than $25.

Crosman Blades (Camillus Cutlery Co.) 910A. Locking master blade and a fully serrated coping blade. MUCH better layout than the Schrade USA 89OT from the same era.

Also, I just won these two off an eBay auction. Looking closer at the (somewhat poor) auction photos, I believe the $55 shipped price I paid may have been a little too much, however, given how the serrations on the Voyager appear to be smurfed. One of the smaller serrations is broken completely off, while the larger ones all have chips in them. Serrations on softer steels like H1 do tend to roll with use, but it takes STUPID abuse to be this bad.

Cold Steel Gunsite Voyager L and Mini Tuff Lite. The Voyager, when cleaned up (and I'm hoping that slightly rolled/chipped serration is fixable), will be a work knife (at 5 1/8" closed with a 4" blade, MUCH too big for EDC), but I bet the Mini Tuff Lite will be a do-all knife. It's small but solid. And, the Wharncliffe/sheepsfoot hybrid lends itself well to heavy cutting. I will likely carry the Mini Tuff Lite a lot.

That's where I get the majority of my wares, from that guy.....

Glad I wasn't bidding against you on that one. So far I've won two auctions from him today....keeping it subdued today, really only bidding to win on a few things I really wanted....

Supposedly that new iPad will be here today after making a wrong turn and heading south instead of north in Indianapolis, or else it would have been here like last Wednesday or Thursday,
The funny thing is the return box for shipping off this pad showed up! But I ain’t shipping off a pad without having one! Then I couldn’t see what’s going on here :(

Oh yeah, I forgot we should be getting our munchpak today, 10 diff snack foods from all over the world thrown into a box and shipped to your doorstep, then next month 10 diff snacks some can be from the same country’s but will not be the same foods,
But the Mrs, the kid, and I will all sit and try a little piece, if we all like it then it well it will pretty much get eaten all by then end of the taste test, if one likes it and others don’t like it well, they end up with the snack to themselves, it’s kinda a fight between the kid and me, cause the Mrs just picks, I must say we’ve had some good snacks, yet at the same time some real nasty ones! Like fish flavored snack, err.. needless to say they got tossed! Lol.. I used to take pics and post them on here,
We once had something unique made over in UK, and it’s a wafer with caramel between another wafer, now you can eat it cold, but you can also put it over top of your tea or coffee and it heats the caramel, and I spoke to someone in the UK but they never heard of them, yet we went to the store like 2weeks later and they actually sold them here in the US, like huh.. it’s kinda fun..

That sounds like a stroopwaffel, you can get them here but they're Dutch or German I think?

Yeah, but on the package it said made in UK, the company also started throwing in a brochure explaining the foods, but didn’t at first,

While I'm a LEGO nut, the ONE thing I like Mega Bloks for is the fact their firefighting and rescue tools look better than LEGO's, and are still perfectly minifig scale. Thus, I use them in my builds, and when I culled all "clone brands" that was the only parts I kept.

I ordered these from the replacement parts page. I'll probably do a bigger order later of Jaws, saws, sledgehammers, bolt cutters, axes, and hand tools. These are from a cropped screengrab of the instructions, and probably look horrible. All I did was put in the set number that had most of the fire and rescue accessories in it, as well as the direct reference parts from its instructions PDF.

2X hydraulic "Jaws of Life" cutter. I have tried and tried to build one out of LEGO, but it came out badly. I found a set on a local store shelves that had the cutter in it, and bought them just for the Jaws of Life. Usually, I couple it to a LEGO-built hydraulic pump, or just a 1x1 "headlamp" brick if I want to just do a battery-powered unit.

2x bolt cutter LEGO doesn't have one.

2x gas cutoff "K12" saw. LEGO's is a little small and thin.
