Vintage Anton Wingen / Othello fixed blade
on: September 07, 2011, 09:03:09 PM
One of my recent knives, an Anton Wingen / Othello fixed blade probably dating from the '60's or '70's, but as you can see still in very good condition.
The thick blade is made from polished carbon steel (not visible in the pics but it has some greying near the point)
Puma made a line of similar knives in those days which were called "Scout knives".
The leather sheath was bone dry, so i cleaned it with leather cleaner and rubbed it with Granger's beeswax.

Specs:

Overall length: 11 inches (28,0 cm)
Blade length: 6.1 inch (15,6 cm)
Steel: polished carbon steel
Weight: 328 grams
Blade thickness: max 6,0 mm
Handle materials: Stag with nickelsilver guard & aluminum pommel
Made in Solingen, Germany

These fixed blade knives really nice and I just loved the leather sheath.
If I need to pick some good EDC tools.
Then I would take my love leatherman multi tool wave and a flash light. Other are just a waste !!!
