My s557 was tight on that layer too. I found that the first shoulder of the philips driver was a little too high, and was lifting the backspring too far, a bit of a nail breaker.
I took a little off that philips shoulder with adremel and parting disk. It's easier now.

These two were awaiting me when I arrived home from a retreat.

Hello all !

During last 6 month I was in Switzerland for my work... So very busy and no time enough to send posts or to prepare photos of knives...
But I'm here again !

First, for Icanfixthat and his Wiki, a little Wenger not referenced yet : the Evowood 66 with its pouch. You can copy the picture on your site and I can send you better photos if you want !

Very strange knife : I never found it on any catalog, I bouth it directly in the old manufacture Wenger (now Victorinox) in Delemont...

And for all, some knives I found during my mission in Switzerland :

Several Soldiers 1951 models...

Ancestor of a Commander (1960s) with logo of "Canton of Bern" on the other face

Skier (1980s)

Shredder (2000/2006)

Wenger Tahara (probably 1940s ?) with a LAUFEN Logo

2 old Wenger (probably between 1916 and 1950) with Marlin Spike not restaured yet !

Soldier red alox 1961 model (1964)

Fass 90

and... 2 SwissGrip Red and black with 2 different pouches

I have another Fass 90 new in its box, if some body want to make change, please contact me in PM

Very good restoration, Jean-Claude.

And some cool additions from your CH stay too.

Did the two layer Wenger Evowood come with a box? Do you have a model number for it or a name?

ICanFixThat hasn't been around for some time now, if you have more pictures and info you can e-mail/PM them to basilio or me and we'll make a listing for it in the SAKwiki.

Or you can just write what you know about it here.

There are some really cool old Saks here.

I need to look more for the older Saks.

Unfortunatly I have no box... It was sold with rebate at the Wenger factory (Delémont) in a plastic bag and all I know is its name : Evowood 66 printed on the bag.

First I supposed it was a knife made with last spare parts "Wenger" in the factory LOL !
But if you look in the catalog 2112, you can find a "classic 66", with same tools... So I think that "Evowood 66" is the correct name for this knife not visible in any catalog...

I will make better photos for Sakawiki (by PM), but not before the next week, because tomorow I will go to Switzerland to spend last days of my hollidays (and also lot of money) at Ibach at the Victorinox factory and I hope to visit the Swiss Army Knife Museum in Brunnen !

Does anyone know how wide the screwdriver is on the Wenger magnifying glass? I was wondering if it is close enough to the victorinox can opener to make it redundant on the Victorinox delemont collection.

Ain't nothing like a Giant!  The king of Swiss Army knives.

Just ordered a Victorinox Swiss Champ XAVT on the bay.  Actually didn't mean to do it, but that had a best offer on a NIB, so I put in $300 and it was immediately accepted it, so I bought it.  Well, now my Giant has a "little" brother.

Received today what I consider an interesting Wenger.
It is a RangerGrip which features orange scales and black coated implements.
This knife is part of a very expensive set (Limited Edition Squadron Rescue Chrono, cat. 60758), which includes a watch, limited to just 1893 pieces.

More about the set here
http://www.wengerna.com/squadron-rescue-chrono-60758
The set is not really "rare", as there are always examples for sale on ebay.
However, with a retail price of just $ 695 ( and ebay prices usually around € 300) I couldn't really justify the purchase.
Most of all, I couldn't care less about the watch.
Well, what I had been waiting for just happened some time ago: an auction showed up, and this time it was only for the knife.
It seems there was out there a watch collector who couldn't care less about the knife.
So, with the kind help by a forum member, I was able to grab the knife for just $ 44

Congratulations Basilio  :salute:

Like you, I'm also after that model - but can't justify paying for watch too. If it were either mechanical or kinetic I'd consider it, but can't face the hassle of battery power.

I'm guessing you've now got ALL the Rangers... :pok:
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Here is an old Wenger Esquire with a couple of unique differences from the modern day one. First off is the split nail file, then the scissors spring and finally the internal blade springs.

Cool esquire. I wonder what the purpose of the split nail file is?
