Tomorrow afternoon I'm going by the shop, see if the guy has come up with any info on the Tactile 812.
To be honest, I'm not expecting much, meaning I'm not sure he'll have done any search but you never know. I may have to pick up a SI or two to give him an incentive :D

Let us know if you find more information.
It took me some time, I pestered the man twice and I'm sorry to say no more info came up.  :(

On the bright side, I got me some Wengers I like quite a lot. Pics to follow later.

Cool esquire. I wonder what the purpose of the split nail file is?

Could it be coarser and finer grit?

They can stick their logo on it, but I will never admit that this...

...is not a Wenger.

And this, as it happens, is the subject of my most recent blog post.

My love for Wenger is very limited because of their weak backsprings.

Hopefully Victorinox fixed that issue on the Delemont knifes.

I like Wenger - but I didn´t give 'em the attention they deserved, foolishly.

I just got some some months ago - next to my Wenger SIs ;)

I just checked my collection and I have 6 Wengers vs 38 Victorinox SAKs. The Wengers are ok but my favorites are Vics. YMMV. tom.   :tool:

Just picked up a Professional 1 72 41. Now have the complete set of the later plastic-handled Professional/Handwerker series. Only have a couple of the early nylon-handled knives.

Very cool.  I have just one of these, a 1.71.31 and wish I could lay my hands on a couple of other models.

A picture of the awl too

(euro number AF.1.077.061.891 or called RangerGrip Pink 61.891)

Did you know  that Pink is a color used for different Camouflage Technics during war? Also pink has not always been a color for women?

Wenger used this shade/color Pink on more early knives but the RangerGrip Pink is one of the latest Wenger models!

One of the most difficult colors i have ever had for the camera. Here is a picture that is the best possible.
For sure the Wenger knife is not made for war but it is interesting. I am 100% sure that women that would carry this would have a really good outdoors knife. Not many Tools out there with such functions. In the history of SAKs there has been made or made today knives for women. Today this RangerGrip would probably be universal.

interesting stuff!

This pink or shade is from my impressions from knives directed at fashions, pastels and women started in the late 80s and introduced in the 90s. Even if the camera got problems you can see the 65mm from the 90s got the same or almost completely the same shade.

PS on the side the SAS special forces are very underestimated i know they are very tough!

Nice pictures North Man.
I have yet to understand at which markets these pink Wenger's were aimed.
Apart from North America and some eastern countries, I was never able to find them listed here.

There is a closeout sale in a shop but I do not think the prices on most items are low enough.... but they are in theory collectible.. unless the fact that many are now made by Victorinox decreases the demand for the old Wenger models, in the future.

Maybe I will get something next week.

Nice knives!

It is difficult to tell how collectable Wenger knives will be in the future. I mean knives from before the merging. I would believe the collectable value on knives from 1893-2013 would remain the same and in some cases increase. Since they are genuine SAKs then it would be so i believe. There is a small change today. The independent Wenger knives are now gone and there is only one Brand called Victorinox with knives and if people that want to collect SAKs then i would recommend collecting both 1884-2013 and continue to collect the New Victorinox knives.

My knowledge about SAKs increased much from collecting both and Wenger knives are educational and fun to collect. :tu:
