A few new oddities at the Multitool Encyclopedia
on: January 07, 2008, 02:02:28 AM
For those of you just tuning in, another website in the Def Empire is the MULTITOOL ENCYCLOPEDIA.

The Encyclopedia is intended to be a reference source for all sorts of multitool facts and figures and data. (Unlike the Multitool.org main site, which is more about reviews and articles and such.) Best of all, the Encyclopedia is user-editable, so it can be updated and edited by anyone who signs up.

Just give a holler if you need help with posting any information.

So anyhow, while the Forums here were down this afternoon, I added a few new multitool oddities to the list:

Beretta Shotgun Tool  https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Shotgun+Tool

Brookstone 4-in-1 BBQ multi tool https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Brookstone+4-in-1+BBQ+multi+tool

Day's End Fowl Necker Multitool https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Days+End+Fowl+Necker+Multitool

Hoppe's Shooter's Knife https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Hoppes+Shooters+Knife

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Day's End Fowl Necker Multitool https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Days+End+Fowl+Necker+Multitool

Wow... I need a fowl dispatching tool... How did I survive up till now without one?  Although... I like my current tool for dispatching fowl...

Yeah, but I don't suggest you try trimming your nails with that one!

If I taped some scissors to it, would it then be considered a multitool?

Although... there was a Simpsons episode where Homer demonstrated how useful a gun was in everyday life :D

Yeah, I love that episode... he buys his gun at "Blood Bath & Beyond!"

Homer:  "I'd like to buy your deadliest gun please."

Clerk:   "Aisle six, next to the sympathy cards"

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Clerk responding to Homer dry firing a gun repeatedly in his face:  "Whoa there Annie Oakley, be careful"

Homer:  "I don't have to be careful, I have a gun!"

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Clerk, describing parts of the gun accessory kit:  "...and this attachment is for shooting down police helicopters"

Homer:  "Oh, I don't need anything like that.... yet"

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I bust a gut every time I see that episode!  Worst part is, I know some people that are almost that bad!   :ahhh

Moe at an NRA meeting, holding a shotgun with a bunch of smaller guns mounted on the barrel, and strings attaching all the triggers together:  "... and that's how with a few minor modifications, you can turn one gun into five."

And turning out the lights at night!

The there was the part where Bart and Millhouse found the gun and decided to play William Tell with it, only Millhouse puts the apple in his mouth.  As Bart lines up the sights carefully, Millhouse pulls the gun out of his mouth and yells "JINX!"

Hopefully I'll have time to add the Zelco FoodTool tomorrow.

Thought that you might get a chuckle out of that  ;)

I have the Zelco but I will haveto add the Brookstone to my list .

It's listed for only $10......the scrap value alone must be worth that!  :D

Is there any more info on the Beretta Pistol Tool?

Looks based on the PST II, but locking and with bit driver. Sounds Gnarly.

I've looked at a few websites selling it, but as with most people trying to sell something, they are irritatingly low on actual information.

That's the Caspian PocketSmith II, and there is some technical info about it in the Multitool Encyclopedia:

http://multitool.org/wiki/tiki-index.php?page=Pocketsmith+II

There was also a review published in Tactical Knives about it a few months ago.

https://wiki.multitool.org/tiki-index.php?page=Beretta

A quick search reveals many Knife/Gun online stores flogging it for a variety of prices. (I doubt it'll ever turn up here, while I can get my hands on a gun with minimal effort, the market here is probably not big enough for gimmicky things like this)

For simple folk such as myself, can someone explain to me what part a Bottle opener plays in firearms maintenance?

Thanks J-bob.

I wonder why so many marketing departments are thrilled with the idea of banging company logos on unspecified crap that really has nothing to do with what the company is known for?

That Beretta pistol tool is almost my idea of the ideal multitool. Full-sized bit driver, scissors, knife, pliers AND locking mechanisms. Too bad the big guys don't make something like this.

Why not- I've had a hand in selling more Leathermans, SOGs, Victorinox, Wengers, Gerbers etc in the last two years than most folks who actually get paid to do it!
