The red clicky-cap is also on back-order on the 4Sevens site at the moment. So... yeah, if you wanted to get that for your light, you might be best to go with another color.

Lumapower LM21: 1xAAA, 10440-compatible, three modes / no blinkies, forward clicky, very light, very bright. Gonna try this as a lightweight summer EDC light.  :tu:

that's an excellent looking little light. :tu:  Love the fact it's a multi-level with tail switch.

Yeah, and a pocket clip, too. Don't see all those features together very often.

Agreed... been tempted by this one myself.

Your thoughts on it would be cool :)

OK, a quickie review...

Fit and finish are excellent, with dark greenish grey HA-III anodizing, smooth threads, and o-rings at both ends. The GITD switch boot protrudes a bit, but it kinda has to in a light of this size; the switch is fairly stiff, and unlikely to turn on in your pocket. There's no mode memory, so it always comes on in Low; probably a good idea just in case it *did* turn on accidently when running on lithium-ion, since it heats up pretty fast on High!

The LOP reflector is pretty deep for this class of light, but not as deep as my AKOray K-103 (which is freakishly deep, as well as larger diameter). That said, the beam pattern is almost identical to my Maratac AAA, which uses a much shallower OP reflector.

The Low mode is VERY low, the Medium is good for most uses, and the High fairly impressive. Unlike some lights in this class (Fenix, I'm lookin' at you!), you have all three modes on either Eneloop or 10440. On both batteries, though, max output is a bit less than the Maratac, but the Maratac is a real rocket; the LM21 is still plenty for an EDC pocket light.

One problem I had, as did others over at CPF: there's a reverse-polarity feature to protect the circuit in case you put the battery in backwards, consisting of a raised lip around the inside of the head; but it prevents a lot of 10440 cells from making contact. You need a cell with a button that protrudes at least 0.5mm to work properly. I solved it by putting a teeny tiny neodymium magnet on the end of my 10440, but I have to position it carefully to avoid contacting the reverse polarity thingie, which could cause a short. (And shorts can be a Bad Thing with LiIon cells.)

The supplied clip was a bit flimsy; I pulled it off and squoze it tighter with pliers, and it holds adequately now. There's no separate lanyard/split-ring hole, but you can attach to the clip if you really need that.

So, yeah, while I woulda liked a bit more output and a better clip, I still think it's a keeper. I plan to carry it as my main summer EDC light; it's so slim and light, I forget it's there even in lightweight shorts.

Good to know, thank you. Shame such a good light has a rubbish clip... several otherwise great lights have been let down by the same.

I am also liking "squoze" as the official past tense of squeeze :D

I'm a bit disappointed to hear that there is no attachment point for a split-ring. :-\  But other than that it sounds like a very good little light. 8)

Amici,
My newest torch is a Fenix E01, not as bright than my Stylus Microstream, but compact enough for comfortable EDC.

Cheers,
Serge

Last Saturday I picked up a Surefire PX2 "Fury" at a local gun store.  I like the light, but wish the 500 lm "high" beam would come on first.  Later on, I read on CPF where SF is bringing out 3 new versions of the Fury (tacticle, defender and combatlight models) that should be released this month.  IIRC all models will be high output only.  I also read that if I had ordered from SF directly, I could have purchased the light for $94 and change plus free shipping (I believe this was for Father's Day).  Instead, I got it for $154.99 plus tax.

I'm currently using this light at work, and it's going to replace my Streamlight LED Strion as my duty light.
