Some quick shots from Gerber
on: January 18, 2012, 05:00:18 PM
We'll be having our official meeting at Gerber in a few hours, but we made a quick recon of their booth yesterday to see what was up, and whether we could get some advance pics of some new stuff.  I have to say, things are looking interesting at the Gerber Camp!  More and better pictures later, but here's some stuff to tide you over!  You may have seen some of these before, but that doesn't mean you can't look at them again!

Snowy Camo Diesel

Dime mini tool:

Steady:

Oh, and the Balance is alive and well.  There were some issues with the sliding plier head that they had thought they'd solved in the prototype stage that re-emerged in the first production run so it was scrapped, the date pushed back and the issue was addressed.

Good to hear about the Balance, and I'd probably pick up a Dime just because  :) .

Really. That Dime looks a PS4 rip off. But seems interesting.

Rip-off is perhaps a little harsh, but certainly it's in answer to the PS4. :)

I like the Dime, I also like the PS4.  The p4 was better, but still.

Don't knock it, that was the one thing about the Octane and LM's Wingman that I really liked!  Slip cutting open a clamshell once and you will wish you had one on every tool you own.  I sharpened a can opener once on a Blast to act as a clamshell opener.

Look harder

I can see how you might miss it since it's a thread confusingly called "Snowy Diesel."  :P

You may also want to check out this new MP600 variant too.  :D

Thanks- we weren't certain how well the light box was going to work without having lights around it, and while some of the pics are a bit on the dark side, the effect overall was better than we were expecting.  Both Bob and I were amazed at how well they turned out, especially considering how much effort we go to every year to try and get good pics.  We've tried everything else we could think of with very limited results.  We will definitely be using light tents in the future!

The light tent did make for awesome pics, but those without it have been great, more than sufficient.  I hear the dark side is better anyway though, I hear they have cookies over there...

  I must say I'm also a fan of the clam shell openers and I think it's a better idea on a keychain over a full sized tool too.

Stay multi my friends
