An 84 mm Swisschamp, minus the scaler, would be awesome!

The Phillips mag glass layer would be hardest to fit. I think the mag glass would stick up too high.  That would be a nice display model though to show that's possible.

Hey Syph, its great to you're doing 84mm mods again. :woohoo:

I've thought about getting a sak mod from you for a long time but I never really had enough desire for the larger or smaller sizes. But I think this may just be the push I need to save up and finally get one made. I look forward to seeing what else you manage to do with this frame.

I've got the 84 scales and scissors layer made now so I am putting together a first build shortly.

15 layers.  This one just about broke my patience assembling.  3 custom tools and scale drawers in both scales.

Looking at that monster got my brain thinking (a dangerous occurrence I know!) would a 84 mm craftsman be at all possible?

That's nuts ......  :o     and/or  ..... amazing!!

My OCD had to kick in and work out what it is - I was thinking it was an XLT Plus
But it is actually an XAVT Minus/Plus as you have two layers from the XAVT (watch opener/combo and second blade/awl)
And it has the XAVT no. of layers

So......
Minus:
  • Spatula (XLT)
  • Second Cybertool (XAVT) - Which IMHO was always a bit (geddit ?! ;) ) ridiculous
  • Flashlight/Wrench (XAVT)
  • EDIT: And XAVT scales of course
Plus - Syph specials:
  • Comb
  • Fork
  • Marlin Spike
Correct?  ???
EDIT PS: Looks like they kept the fish scaler - Which most of your customers/mods throw out !

And two drawers - That means a whole new set up and machine program for the second scale - Wowser
Can the instructions just be mirrored/reversed?   ;)

Dread to think what it cost!   :o

Haha yes you are 100% correct with your guess at starting sak and changes.  Dual CT drivers was for sure overkill on that but default.

Yes I did just mirror the code for front drawer scale.  Not too hard but it worked.

Customer sent in the donor and I have t figured out the bill on this yet but definitely in the 500 ballpark.

That's one Smurfin' beast! Love it as a shelfie queen! As a user?... Not so much, but that's just me...

I can imagine the patience being drained out of you as you were building it! It's quite a massive undertaking!!
I'm wondering how many pivots you needed to join together to make this happen...

BTW, is the left over spatula layer up for sale, or already taken? 'Cause I'd very much like to take it off your hands.
Let me know if we can make a deal.

It took 5 pivots for 15 pivots in this thing.  2.5 inches is a bit much for a sak.  If I had a lather would have just tapped some bar stock instead.

That really is a lot!
It must have been a relief to see it finished. I bet some mixed feelings were involved in the process.
In the end, a fine piece of art!

This actually is industrial design art! If you fan out the tools and take a shot I suspect several gear review sites would post it. I’d send the photo to Popular Mechanics as well.

Ya I'm going to get a few more pics before I ship it off.  The customer ordered a 2nd sak that I'm almost done with a blue fork.  Just a three layer this time though!

The customer may not have had this in mind but it does make it even more inoffensive. If you’re in an area where knives are looked at as weapons then the fork can help offset that a little.

So I made a Ti voyageur today from all brand new parts!  3 weeks of R&D to get the scissors cut down reliably, and make the Ti backspring.  But hot damn it all works and I'm so happy... :D
