That soccer ball is still pretty intact.  Brand new?  :)  My last dog would eat sporting equipment.  His favorite snack was tennis balls.... Great looking dog.  :tu:

Yes actually I just gave it to him. Don't worry, he will make it unrecognizable shortly.

My guy likes tennis balls, he'll put them between his paws and peel the fuzz off of them, but to hear the peeling noise just drives my wife nuts, it gives her chills right up her spine, I kinda think its funny but, gotta please the wife so needless to say the only time he gets a tennis ball is during catch, after that it gets hidden! Tennis balls here are an outside toy only. The dogs know to surrender them when they come in the house or face my wrath as I pick up tennis ball bits off the floor for the next few days.

Our dog will be put to sleep tomorrow...   She's 13 now, and got some sickness to her organ of balance(?), so she's really not happy anymore... But it still hurts...  :(

Sorry to hear that Tom.  She's had a good life, and at 13 it's been longer than a lot of dogs get.  My heart goes out to you.  I've been there a few times now and I hate to see anyone go through it.

Bummer Tom, sorry to hear that.  At least she's had a long, full life for a dog, and longer than many get.  And she gets to go peacefully and comfortably.  I know that regardless of all that, it's still tough to have to part with a loved family pet.

That they are! I found my furballs Kong last night, he hasn't had that thing for like over two years because we moved, so I stuffed it full of treats and added some PB, and well I don't think I've seen him so happy, he's been going to town on it for the last two hours, but I think he's just about had enough, good cause I've just about had enough of the squeaking, but I'm going to have to get him a new one, the senior one, cause well he's old, he'll be Turing 11 in October.. We might be fostering {or just taking him in as our own} a neglected Basset. This dudes name is Otis and his owners decided to leave him locked in a cage in the apartment they moved from. What a foul inhumane thing to do. My wife heard of this thru a work mate who helps volunteer at a local animal rescue. Hes placed right now,but the care giver is maxed out with doggies. So if all goes well, we'll have him at our home by sunday. Handsome fella isnt he.

What a cruel thing to do to a pet like that.  I wonder why some people even bother to get a pet if they really aren't capable/willing to take care of them.  Good for you for potentially taking him in :salute:  He can keep you company while you're taking it easy healing your foot ;)

What a beautiful critter!  I always liked the name Otis- the dog downstairs from us is named Otis too, although he's a pitbull, not a basset.  Bassets are great dogs if you want to take it easy or not get anywhere fast!  :D

I've heard that if you walk around the neighborhood with a squeeze bottle of pureed chicken and hot sauce the dog will walk himself as he follows the scent around town then right back home!  Of course they get so into following scents he'll forget to do his business and you'll have to take him out again afterwards... :D

We have a quite large vegetable garden at my FILs house, and this year we had much trouble with voles. We have them every year, but this year they are a real pest. Ate almost all carrots, and damaged much more vegetables. So while looking for a solution this cute little kitten showed up and decided to stay:

She has to stay outside (she has lots of shelter in the garden shed), but we train her to catch and eat the voles. She had her first vole last weekend (caught by my husband) and I am positive that she will be good help in the garden!

Lovely cat :)
I'm sure the voles will move on once the catch a smell of her ;)
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Very cute kitty, Turnstone.

These two are examining the consequences the heat and lack of rain had on the lawn.
