Some great photos again. :tu:

Get on an old paddle steamer in Thun (for me the most beautiful ships in the world) and drive over both lakes to Brienz ...

I've been to Thun, about 2002 if memory serves me correctly. I got the train over from Kandersteg - it was in my Scouting days - and had a wander around the town and castle. I didn't get on a paddle steamer, but I did walk up the side of the Aare from the railway station for a short while. I wish I knew which box the photos were in...

For me, Thun is one of the top 10 most beautiful Swiss cities.

On the weekend there was a flea market in my beloved hometown of Winterthur, which has the largest pedestrian zone in Switzerland.
Because of C. the stands were widely scattered, so I had a few kilometers to walk. The weather was nice, I really enjoyed it, even if I didn't find anything for my collection this time.
Just a few pics:

Such beautiful pictures zoidberg!
I really enjoy looking at your pictures of this impressive landscape.  :dd:
And that's a really interesting SAK.

Thank you.
I'm happy that you and others in this thread enjoy them.
After trying a few different versions of the SAK over recent years I've found this config really works well for me.

Last week on our way home from a trip down south the older kid and I stopped for a short hike in an old forest.
This tree is well over a thousand years old.
Yes, it's a terrible pic. The tree is very grand. Pics just can't do it justice so yeah go visit them in person.

Those are truly "pics of your SAK in a public place"  Peter, awesome

 :like:

Looks like you guys had a great day, beautiful weather,  SAKs for sale (and I've never seen so many of those green sheaths in one pic), and last but not least... ice-cream  :D.

And I've said it before, you must be Swiss Champion in "SAK balancing", I mean, that pic on the side of the "fountain" is just impressive  :o.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful pics here my friend, greetings from Belgium .

Went for a walk this afternoon with the idea of sitting in the park with a couple of beverages. The parks were rammed, so I ended up on the other side of the river instead. Much more pleasant.

The white building on the corner across is a pub, The Continental, which usually does fine food and a fine array of cask ale and craft beer. The beer garden is a fantastic place to drink on a sunny day. One day, one day soon...

Another day, a different park. Winckley Square, just off the City Centre. A Georgian Square that was once an exclusive place to live, the park was once gated for the wealth residents, but is now a public park. It's undergone a lot of work in recent years to make it better and safer for people to use with some greats nods to the history. One of the Suffragettes, Edith Rigby, lived here and there is an area marking Women's Suffrage in her honour.

I'm a little late here, but I would also like to have said it:
Great lake picture, zoidberg, this landscape, this view ...
And Michael; you guys have such noble parks, just beautiful!

Today I went to our forest place with my son again. Worked a little on our camp, we want to spend the night there soon, and of course we have grilled Swiss cervelat sausages, which is almost an obligatory ritual when we are in the forest.

Bit more along the Craigieburn Range from the pics I posted in March.
Views from Helicopter Hill 1256m.
Hoping to do more trails up that way soon.

Heh. :D The Winterthur trip didn't see that much travelling, honest! But we flew in and out of Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, so before driving back we diverted to Liechtenstein to tick off another country. Aside from that, walking to Töss and getting the train back after breakfast was as close to travelling as I got. :)

I had a brief walk round Winckley Square today before a burger and a couple of pints. I then got a train to Burscough in West Lancashire to watch a game of non-league football. The station at that end of the town is very well looked after, although it's now a shadow of it's former self after the rail cuts of the 70s onwards.

And a bonus 'action' shot of the football. I didn't think it was a good idea to start trying to get the PX in on any of the shots, even at that level...

Another great pic Peter  :tu:.

During our vacations to Austria we always plan one day to visit Vaduz.  Since we always stay at the same location in the west of Austria (Bürs, near Bludenz),  the trip to Vaduz only takes an hour or so.

Thanks for sharing your pic here my friend  :salute:.

Great pics Michael  :tu:.

I love pics of trains and trainstations (guess I've seen too many episodes of "Thomas the Tank Engine" when our boys were little).

And indeed, probably better not to take pics of a SAK during a football game.

Great pic John  :tu:.

I hope that, by this time next year, we are back to our normal lives (or at least more normal than now) since I'm really in need of a nice vacation, and I haven't seen a real mountain since 2018 or so... :ahhh

What is this, some kind of ingenious scheme to get me to buy a Buck knife...?

I'm on to you guys  :twak:.

Beautiful pictures gentlemen, thank you both for sharing them here, I really appreciate it  :salute:.

Love the "up-side down" pic Zoidberg, I've done the same in the past with a "water reflection" pic, and it always creates a very special effect (I will try to find the pic I'm talking about).
