I used The Rogue's pruner blade to cut out the seal on a container of coffee creamer.
So, then "The Rogue" is now official name? :D
Masterpiece, but seems it just lacks scraper blade

Yeah I'd say I'm going with that name :tu:  What would the scraper blade be?
It sounds good - makes great impression  :2tu:

Uff, sorry about that, I should have said "scraper blade"
... the above mentioned vic's can opener :D

btw, I like pruner blade too  :tu:

Ah, I see now.  I originally was going to have the can opener, then decided I'd rather have a secondary small blade as I find it quite useful.  However, I would rather had had the utility blade from the Alox Electrician, but decided not to spring for one as I already owned a Pioneer Rancher, which has the pruner blade.  I probably should have just sprung for the utility blade and it would have been that much more perfect to me :tu:

You can always get another custom SAK made...  :pok:

 :D

Ha, easier said than done ;)  I could maybe do one a year during tax refund season, but I honestly don't need another one.  If I were to do anything, I would just swap that utility blade from my Mechaneer with the pruner blade from the Rogue.  That may be a cheaper job actually

I won't let you kill my Rogue buzz 8)  Didn't know about that one though.  I actually would have gotten that if it was still in stock possibly.  I like the Rambler (don't own one though), and the Classic (do own one), but I would rather have the nail cleaner tip instead of the SD version.  I'm really not going to use a tiny Classic as a screwdriver, and the nail cleaner tip probably could have been used that way anyway

I know that feeling , it's really hard to decide which blade or tool left out. In mind I'm trying to do a 3-4 layer SAK, but then it always came out with at least 6 layers
Btw, now you have to make some ranking  :pok: Has "The Rogue" prevailed against "Yeochamp" & Explorer ? :D
And, are you missing there some of back-layer & scale tools?

Yeah it's hard to decide.  I do the same, and end up with more layers than originally planned.  The Rogue is basically my perfect custom Alox.  I do wish I'd just gone ahead and paid the few extra bucks to have the Electrician's utility blade (which I do have on my Mechaneer, and possibly could have sent in with the other parts to have him put that blade on the Rogue and the pruner blade on the Mechaneer...hindsight's 20/20 as they say).  Honestly, the pruner blade is sufficient, and at one point I actually preferred it to the Electrician's utility blade, but I just like the shape and how it cut tape to open boxes at work.  It was better for making precise cuts too.  Anyway, I love The Rogue, and am super pleased to have gotten it made.

As for how it ranks among my main SAKs, the Yeochamp, Explorer and Mechaneer...that's tough.  I could easily say it is and likely will be my favorite, but that could be the newness factor.  I am sure that the Mechaneer has been replaced as my favorite Alox though.  I may actually not even end up carrying it much anymore as I'm trying to limit my EDC lineups.  I actually think I may prefer my new Explorer Plus to my Yeochamp as well, but that could be because I got my initials engraved on the main blade.  Another factor in favor of the cellidor models is, as you mentioned, the scale and back tools.  I love the sort of total package of the cellidor models I have, but I can honestly say I rarely use the back or scale tools.  This makes my Rogue that much more likely to be my favorite due to it's smooth, sleek design.  It has all the tools I really want/need in a SAK, and it looks awesome in my favorite color scheme of black/red :tu:
Thanks for comparison :salute: :salute:
Out of the cellidor SAK universe, that color scheme (black on the white/silver with some red added) is my favorite too - there's no doubt
So at least that my choice will be a piece of cake  :D

I used the Rogue a couple times tonight at my wife's great grandmother's 95th birthday party.  I used the scissors to cut a straw shorter for the baby, and the pruner blade to cut the plastic holding a couple of new little drink bottles.

SwissChamp had a busy morning at the club.

Scissors got used to cut targets, then the cap lifter got used to prise open 'scope mountings( why do BSA put sticky tape inside Thier scope mounts ) then the whole knife got used as the weight on the end of a jerry built plumb line to line up a scope.

Back at the club house it got out on a play date with a Huntsman and a ruby Climber with Swiss scenic print.
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Problem: i wanted to fit that key into de clip but the hole is to small

Solution: drill it with the ranger 90 awl, it took about 5 or 6 turns and the awl is capable of grinding very nice

Success! and the awl still (after some heavy use on my part) without a scratch

I used the nail file on my Rogue to act as a key for the toilet paper dispenser in one of the bathrooms here at work.  It seems anything would work as long as it was of a similar shape.

I found a new use for the cuticle pusher this week, on my MiniChamp!

Plucking staples out from paper sheets, envelopes etc.....

I'm very glad for this finding and would love to share with you guys, since here in the office it's common to "loose" the proper appliance for that for other people; and some of you might find yourselves in the same need.

I have tried several tools in both the Vic Explorer and the Minichamp for that purpose. For most staples I am sticking with that Minichamp's nail cleaner. The pointy tip helps a bit, especially with the smaller ones. I use it almost everyday at office.

I've found the can opener/small screwdriver tool on 84/91/93/111 mm Vics to be great for staple removal.  I think the best approach with this tool is to go at the staple from the back, inserting the flat Phillips driver into one side of the staple (with the back of the can opener facing out), and then rotating the tool to bend that side of the staple to perpendicular with the paper.  Repeat for the other side, then pop the staple out.  Hopefully this makes sense; it takes a lot longer to explain than it does to do.
