My resolutions:

1.  Have another year of injury free running.
2.  Get the house remodel finished up so that...
3.  NAMU 2013 can happen this summer.

Mine is to lose 30lbs.

I haven't been near my ideal weight since I was in my mid 20s, but have been slowly creeping up in weight. Now, my feet hurt when I go for a walk, not to mention that I'm getting facebook notifications of all my friends having heart attacks, and just spent some lovely visitation time with a stroke victim... and I have a sick fascination with a TV series called 'Dr. G: Medical Examiner', where she goes over autopsies to find causes of death.

And even 30 lbs lighter, I'll still be  seriously overweight. Just less so.

I don't kid myself about why I'm overweight. I eat too much and don't exercise enough. We have an exercise bike that I don't use as often as I should. I'm going to set up schedules and goals for its use. Second, I'm making a conscious effort to keep portion size and snacking under control. We eat a lot of good, healthy food: lots of veggies, brown rice, etc. What I eat is less the issue than how much. And snack food...smurfing Cheez-Its!

For me,

The key was to make it mandatory to put in my exercise time before any television or internet time (except for MT.O of course... ;))

My only advice regarding weight loss (as I used to have a problem with it and I still don't consider myself anywhere near perfect, but at least managed some loss) is cut out all artificial sugar for as long as you can. It alllways helped with me, though, we all know it's individual. Years ago I just said no to sugar all of a sudden, started making coffee with honey, went on first for days, then for weeks without any "processed sugar" and I think it worked. Whenever I did want something sweet, I had some dried fruit... or just binged on bread, cheese, anything BUT sugary stuff. May be not that healthy, but desperate times call for desperate measures :D

As for resolutions... hadn't thought of that, but I guess it would be along the lines of: get all my documents and IDs in order asap as well as hope & try to get my stolen phone back ....

I've already given up most of the things i used to enjoy (ie. all the bad things like drinking and smoking) exercise and weight loss all seem a bit like hard work, and would probably be too little too late !
all in all i'm happy with the way i am so i intend getting through 2013 without changing much of anything , if that makes me seem lazy so be it.
Good luck to everyone else with their 'resolutions' !

I used to say that I wouldn't drink any more, but I wouldn't drink any less either. I haven't done that for a few years though. I would like to go down one more waist size in my jeans and just have a good, boring, uneventful year. Work some OT and reel in some debt would also be good.

Like many others, I would like to lose some weight.  For me it is purely a matter of controlling my intake of food - unless you do a large amount of high intensity exercise/work you are unlikely to lose a lot of weight just via exercise (but getting fitter is also a good thing).  My problem is I have too much will-power and not enough won't-power

Oh, and I am intending to have fun with my new puppy when I get it (Mum has been confirmed as pregnant, but I have to wait until mid Feb before I can get my hands on her/him).  I'm hoping s/he will be my next dog agility champion (my current champion is getting a bit old to keep up with the young'uns on the really fast courses)

that WILL require photos Greg !
i'm guessing it's a Dobbie ? (why anyone would buy any other breed is beyond me )

Sorry, no photos (I'm a bit technologically challenged in the photo department).

And sorry again, not a Dobe.  Agility was just too hard on my current dobe's body (she has had issues with discs/spinal column so no agility for her since she was only 4 years old).  I do love my Dobes, such characters.  Ruby is now 12 3/4 years old, which is getting on for a Dobe.

My curent agility whiz is a Koolie x Border Collie (working lines sheep herding dog), my next one will be straight Border Collie (again working lines sheep herding dog, so not a conformation show type dog).

Get in shape (no specific weight goal as long as I lose the spare tire), and get my life back to one piece and on track.

My resolutions:

1.  Have another year of injury free running.
2.  Get the house remodel finished up so that...
3.  NAMU 2013 can happen this summer.

I'm in full support of that resolution.  :D

For me the most important part is find something you actually enjoy. Forcing oneself to do something will never last long, at least for weak minded people like me.  :-[

Oh and resist hunger. I always end up starving after exercise and eat back the little I manage to lose.

Check with our good buddy Johnny- he's a retired pro gator wrestler!  He gave us a great tour of Gatorland a few years ago.

Sure I'd be up for it.  :)  Don't think that's really a resolution sort of thing though, more of a "someday..." kind.  This year I resolve I will wrestle a carnivorous reptile!  Yeah, doesn't quite sound right.......  ::)
