Hi! About 10 years using a MiniChamp + Explorer combo, I have just entered the SwissChamp club!

Here is the family picture to celebrate the moment.

Swisschamp is the best EDC. It will cover 95% of all needs. People are complaining that is heavy at 195g. An Iphone has 240g, an nobody complains. Nobody is carrying his Iphone 13 pro max in a sheath. In my opinion the weigh is not an issue. I enjoy my champ everyday.  :)

:iagree: too.  I never felt the Swisschamp to be that bad weight wise, considering the tool set.  Maybe I've been around them too long, but I really don't think they're that large either.

:iagree: I’m in the same camp.
Of course to me the SC is really just an Explorer on steroids! :D

It’s really not that heavy or bulky especially if carried using a pocket clip or Sbiner. I’ve actually been carrying mine a bunch lately because I’ve been traveling and exploring around quite a bit and I know that when I’m carrying the SC I’m covered.

And now I’m finding myself eyeing the XLT

I notice the pliers do not open a lot by themselves. The spring seems to be ok, but there is some friction in the rivet os something. I can open them using my finger, but I would expect them to opens few millimeters more just like the scissors. Is it normal?

Perfectly normal. The pliers open by themselves till the spring is fully "unsprung". Using your finger you could easily double the opened width.
Best regards and stay safe,

Wolfgang

hello.  please post a photo of your wix from the side of the ring.  I noticed that on my instruments they do not go smoothly, but in a small arc.  I want to understand this for everyone, or just me.

On which side/tools do you notice that unusual arc?

Now I get it. If no one does it first I will try to take a picture of mine from that angle and post it here.

I don’t notice any arc, could be an optical illusion.

I really have to say that Victorinox's latest iteration of the Swisschamp is sensational. The magnifier is absolutely amazing.
