24 Cybertool compatible bits for $5
on: April 11, 2013, 02:24:56 PM
I picked up a 2nd hand CT34 a while back but it only had one bit with it.

In my travels today I stopped in at the hardware and spotted a "Precision Screwdriver and Bits" set going for the massive cost of 5 bux.

Being from the good folk at Kobalt the driver is pretty crappy, but the bits and extension are not too bad. I will have to do the "magnet mod" to my CT driver, but I now have 25 bits rather than 1..  :tu:

Nice score. I'm gonna have to see if they have that at my local hardware store.

I was searching for a Wiha set for several months, when, suddenly, the market flooded with Chinese 4mm  precision sets. I mean, illegal immigrants sell them in the streets. here is what I got for 12 euros and it is of fine quality.
Try Blue Tack instead of glue with your magnet. The magnet even helps the regular bits stay in place.

Yep I bought something similar here and they work just fine for around $10.  They arent as high quality steel as the Vic bits, but the price was right.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

How do you know all those street vendors are illegal immigrants? :police:

Will they fit in the Vic storage fold out (not sure what its called) ?

Also is it possible to locate the storage foldout  opposite anything other than the bit driver?  Say for a modified knife , but to have a bigger selection available for the driver?

Well, they have a 5% possibility to be legal, according to statistics, thus this possibility lies outside two Standard Deviations in a Gaussian curve and that permits me to suppose they are illegal with a good safety margin. It is not polite to ask them directly, I might frighten them. So I rely on some sound hypothesis.
Why are you asking?

Mine do, but still the Vic's bits are double ended and they click in place, while the others are secured by the Cybertool stem.

Oh, and God forbid that you frighten them while they are "innocently" minding their own illegal business...
It might infringe on their rights, the poor darlings.

Well, they are poor people, coming from poor(er) countries. They have mothers and sisters abroad and some of them feed them. But that's another issue. Back to the topic.

Harbor Freight has a bit set that should work as well in case someone doesn't have a Lowes nearby.  http://www.harborfreight.com/33-piece-precision-screwdriver-set-93916.html

I remember that auction, and I have that tool set as well.  Guess I should have tried to jump on it too!
