BuckTool Display
on: July 30, 2013, 07:35:38 AM
I have been working on this BuckTool display for a while. Tomorrow the public will see it for the first time at the 25TH Annual Buck Collectors Club Rendezvous in Post Falls Idaho. I have discussed my collection with the Buck Historian and to his knowledge it is a first for a BuckTool display.
The display covers most of the multitools Buck Knives has produced over the years. My main focus was the 360, 355, 350 BuckTool, but I have included SwissBuck, Peter Whittaker collaborations and the more current X-Tract line.
The pictures are not great but hopefully you can get an idea of what it is like. I do have LED lights to light it up.
Since the BCCI Rendezvous is starting tomorrow, and then a week of vacation I will not be on here much for the next 2 weeks but I will try to check in from time to time and try to answer any questions..

Edit: Is that a 355 First Production Run you have down there in the corner? I hadn't realized you had found one of those. Congrats!

Yes that is a first run 355 BuckLite tool. It is 1 of 300 made. I recently picked up another first run 355 that is not in the blister pack . I got it from a Buck Knives employee.
In the bottom picture, bottom row, the third blister pack from the left is a 360 BuckTool First Production Run 1 of 400. Both were produced for the Buck Collectors Club.

That sure is a comprehensive display of BuckTools.  What is holding them to the side doors?  Are they magnetic?

I am quite simply green with envy longbow.
For me personally it was the Bucktool that actually brought about this tragic  illness that we all share on here.

A fantastic collection and what's more an incredible heirloom to pass onto future generations.
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

Well so far every one has liked my display. Most people do not know much about BuckTools so it is fun talking to them about the tools.
Today I was asked to do a seminar on BuckTools at the next BCCI Rendezvous in 2018, so I have 5 years to get ready for that.
Again thanks everyone for your comments.

nice!

Having time to prepare is awesome, and I think you may have been a shoe-in for the job.

good luck!  if you do make a powerpoint, or word doc,  and you do not mind sharing, this site would be a great place for a copy.   I would read it just to learn.
If I can help, let me know

I think we would all be interested in helping you prepare your seminar!  I doubt many of us would have much to offer in the way of info, but we could certainly help you in presentation!

Seems to me someone around here suggested a video presentation of some sort already....   :D

By the way, that is an absolutely fantastic display, and I'd be proud to include a video of your seminar on the Multitool Encyclopedia should you be able to film it in five years!

I certainly appreciate all of the support on here. We are on the way out the door for our trip. The kids are staying here and watching the dogs for me. After we get back I will try to get started on the history. It was a lot of fun at the BCCI event.
I scored on a Buck X-Tract display and some BuckTool literature. I will post pictures when we get back.
Made some good connections at the Buck Factory with employees that worked on the BuckTool, and know some history on them.
Time to hit the road.   ;) :D
