What's the pouch underneath the Spirit?

Thanks Sir Eniki!

The pouch was a key-holder/coin pouch, from which I cut out the key-holder part. It now fits the Spirit and a light, or any other tool duo I take with me. Previously, my tools kept on scratching my coins up all the time. That's in the past now.  :D
An older pic of the pouch:

Good idea. :tu:

I have to make myself a new coin pouch. I don't like wallets with them so I carry a separate one.

My wallet does not have a coin department. It gets too fat and uncomfortable under my butt with coins in there. The measly amount of bills it contains in general don't bother me sitting on them.

Thanks Gareth.

I have a few Laguioles, great classic gentlemen's pocket knives imho, all used excessively in the past. The smallest is over 25 years old. Bought it new back then.  I still carry the black one regularly, the others rarely get used anymore, due to them and me having color issues, and me having too many knives to choose from for EDC. First world problems... Some pics:

I think the scales are factory VIC ones, but all the tools are custom made from a Damascus sheet.

A knife maker that does SAK parts in damascus by hand and whose work is displayed in the Wenger museum is hard to forget. ;)

Have you seen his Ivory and Damascus Wenger Ranger? :dd:

Maybe add that one to the SAKs in public places thread. It would fit right in there. :D

Cheers Enki. How could I missed that thread before?

As to the nice scenery - the rock formations are amazing. I went trough the valley today, at some points more bouldering then hiking. One of the next weeks I want to take on the peaks, I am looking up the available routes.

That question called for a close inspection. The only damage to the coating of the tools is at the tip of the nail file from using it as a prybar. The rest seems to hold up very well, but I am not a heavy user of the tools, besides the knife, and I rotate my EDC quite a lot.
The coating of the split ring however, seems less good, as the blank steel shows trough on the outside of the entire ring from rubbing with clip attachments.
Final opinion: I would buy again.  :salute:

I was looking for a strop belt for a while, but never bit the bullet on ordering one. So today when on a flea market, I spotted a very old one that upon closer inspection still seemed good enough for duty, and I managed to bargain it down from 10 to 8 Euro  :D
Although a bit rusty, the spanner still works, so if the leather needs replacement, I can put on a new one.
I stropped my SR2 (my wife used it to dig out some plants ), my Farmer, and a Laguiole. All 3 showed great improvements in the before and after paper cut test.  :)
So, my new strop:
