Hate to say, but that's typical from my experience with Roger.

I dont know too many people that buy 6 bushcrafters in one order.  You'd have to be the dimmest bulb not to want to sell.  Oh well.  I always was fond of plain silver anyway.

Ya that sounds on par with what others have said.  Its like he doesn't really want to sell product.  From what Ive seen and read I dont think his skills match his ego.

Its ironic but thats why there are US members who want +B stuff, but get it from Alexie in Canada since he's a PLEASURE to deal with.  If it wasnt for him I cant imagine how +B would still be around.

I forwarded this pleasant email to Victorinox.

If he represents the "swiss experience" it's quite the letdown.

SwissB canada.  Other than overpriced I cant say anything bad about him.

Tools and rails also seems to be his handle on ebay.

After not hearing back from +B, I ordered from Swissbianco Canada and it was a smooth process both times. I don´t think they are responsible for the high shipping costs, ebay forces you to use registered services to be able to sell sometimes.
I appreciate what Roger did for the Alox fans( and for making teh 111 mm clip available), but I am clueless why you would want to treat customers like that.

I never purchase SAK from their US site as Alexei told me US site is for American only. So I can buy only whatever is on Canada site.
Alexei is nice guy and very professional.

I don't know how he can afford to treat folks that way. The special edition Victorinox world is infinitesimally small and word spreads fast...

Well, after having my second order canceled by Roger I receieved this very friendly email...

hello,

we reserve the rights to sell to who we want, as items are in stock. you did complain email in the past, please do not order anymore.

best regards

+B

The complaint he is referring to is my asking for a tracking number for my order that he charged me 10.00 to ship.  It is VERY SAD when a dealer treats their customers in this manner.  VERY SAD!

He must have the condition known as self hate.  In my studies I have learned that self hate generally stems from jealousy.

In the USA we need to make profit to run a business.  That means selling your product without worrying what the person will do with it after they OWN it.  Just move the product. The whole situation of not wanting to sell and make money just seems too alien a thought for me to understand.

In the end I do live in the GREATEST FREE COUNTRY in the world and a company does reserve the right to not make profit and just sit on their products and fondle them in a dark room and by themselves for the rest of eternity.

As for me, I need to get back to moving product and making a profit.

The complaining he's talking about might be the one in this thread. ;) HE may not be a member here anymore but I'm fairly certain he reads the threads here every now and then. AND he doesn't like modders. :D

My command of the english language is not the best as it is my second language but he did say email.  I did have it out with him over email in reference to tracking.  Now if he said the word POST that would be different.

The first rule of doing business in any country is a very solid command of the language.  That or HIRE SOMEONE WHO HAS COMMAND.

Again, if he wants to sit on his products and have them go unsold, so be it.  FREEDOM allows him to act in the manner in which he chooses to act.

He is a modder himself.  I will admit a very smart one.  Only a genius can take a farmer, remove the openers, anodize it a pretty color and charge twice as much.  On top of that only a genius would turn around and charge twice as much for shipping as well!!  GENIUS!

I'm pretty sure his products aren't going unsold.

I'm not a huge fan of Roger's attitude sometimes, but this seems like immature ranting to me. His business is clearly doing alright, and you just rubbed him the wrong way. No need for extended caps lock and pseudopsychological analysis for the sake of insulting the guy.

Kids will be kids, I guess.

Perhaps someone else (one of our own prominent modders perhaps) should talk to Victorinox and see about getting the same kind of deal that +B has going on.

Syph, in your case, I made your prediction long ago. I predict that one day, Victorinox is going to send some people around to your place, kidnap you and you'll wake up in Switzerland.

Contacts can be a little difficult to find from the web. However, we do have a few members that either live in or have easy access to Switzerland. We might have to send them on a fact finding mission; perhaps sending them on a factory tour with a couple of your mods would put the right bug in someone's ear. I recall that +B got his 'in' with them with a Pioneer mod (Damascus blade). You surpassed that about 4 squares back IMHO.

Found some really interesting info in this thread. I wasn't around, but this is a very nice place and if the kind and generous folks of MTO have banned SB from here, I think that speaks for itself.

I asked him yesterday if he will be doing any more splash alox, sadly he said no, too complicated to do. I'm just really bummed out I got into collecting alox last year, and the best SB stuff was sold 2010 or so. I just really want some splash Cadets

1) There seems to be some more details on his section of blades forum here, last post.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1004867-Bring-Back-Blue!/page3

2) He updated his facebook page a short while ago.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/SwissBianco-Knives-Tools/114038305278036?v=wall

So far, blue alox with red shield, red with red shield & GOLD with red shield.

EDIT: Drat!! Beaten to the Punch.

Red with red shield is what the standard Vic red looks like.  The blue and red might look okay in person, but that pic looks a bit off to me.  The earwax gold color Im not a fan of. :D

Doing black with red shield is an obvious big seller, I wonder if he did that.  Not quite a railroader model but as close as we could get.

Another update from +B Facebook page...

Quote...
"it is a unique new combination of tools and cause the marlinspike/sackingneedle is no longer made we will not be able to make more of them."

I don't understand why he would have a marlinspike/sackingneedle on a carver model ??? surely the regular awl would be more useful when carving ::)
IMHO a Carver model would have regular blade, pruning blade, electrician utility blade, saw and an awl.

I think he has missed a great opportunity to make better use of the limited stock of  marlinspike/sackingneedle and making a unique model instead of rehashing his Carver model ::)
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
