I very well may get one for my roommate.  I think the orange is very nice looking and blue would be very cool.

Some inside info that I heard form someone that spoke to there company. These where made in a batch of 400 so they is only 400 of them total. They have around 50 left as of now.

Cool, good info.  Glad I grabbed 2.  I looked up orange alox sales on ebay there were no orange alox farmers sold, but other orange 93mm alox sold for over 200, and that was a solo.  So for the price of these orange farmers, you really cant go wrong.  I contemplated getting more, but one will get modded, and one for the collection.

Its also nice to see other places getting special runs of alox that isnt swissbianco.  I wonder if you still need connections with Vic to get special stuff done like that.

This really pisses me off: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111323777100

Not only is the price arrogant and disgusting, but the schmuck stole Cutlery Shoppe's photo.

I sent a nasty message to the seller, and an email to Cutlery Shoppe about their photo.

I encourage you guys to do the same; I'd really appreciate it, and it would help alleviate some of my anger.

While the price is high there is another one that is at $112 dollars right now. The price is the only thing I see wrong with it, but if others are willing to pay it then that's there problem and decision.

I see stock photos on EBAY all the time so not sure why that's a big deal. Not saying its right to use other photos, but did the seller do anything wrong? People can ask whatever they wan't. Doesn't mean anyone has to or is going to buy it. Just my opinion though.

It's not a stock photo, it's the store's photo. Perhaps a small issue to you folks, but yes, it's theft and it's wrong. It's also against eBay policy. If I listed items with photos you guys took would you be alright with it?

But if I'm the only one who thinks that way, then I bow to the consensus as it must be alright. At least now that it doesn't affect anyone here. Cutlery Shoppe was, after all, the one who had these done and is selling them for a reasonable price. Who cares if their photo is taken so someone can squeeze some more money while Cutlery Shoppe is still selling theirs?

Carry on gents, no worries.

I'm not saying it's right at all and yes I would be pissed if someone took my photo to use to sell something. I'm not trying to say your wrong at all. I guess i'm bias as the MTO family we have here all know where the deal is at and WE can have them for the correct price. It sounds horrible, but I guess i'm used to people asking ridiculous prices the last couple months on alox.
I just look, shake my head and move on. You have the right to be pissed if you wan't though.  :salute:

I dislike when sellers use others photos as well.  The price however is their option and our option to buy or not.  I am sick of sellers selling "Retired, One of a Kind" tools for outrageous prices but there are more than enough buyers.  Kudos to Cutlery Shoppe for a great looking SAK and an even better price on these.  I'll shoot the seller an  email also in regards to the photo.

One just sold for $127.50 + $5.99 shipping.  Interesting seeing people pay nearly a hundred dollars more than what they could have bought it for at Cutlery Shoppe.

Thanks to Captain Spaulding for passing this deal along.  I feel so much smarter for having joined this forum.

Woe is me! Just ordered 3 orange Farmers which I don't need.

For the record --  the promo code does nothing on international orders.

(It appears to unlock free shipping, but you still end up paying 25 or 60 dollars for it. Ouch.)

Orange farmers. Wow! Nice find mr captain.

I wish there was a way to contact the bidders and encourage them to retract their bid. Ebay should allow public comments to be posted to any ad so people could warn potential buyers that it's available for $36 elsewhere!

I'm guessing the buyer didn't know it was one of a rerun and not the first limited run ::)
Poor guy :-[
This really is going to throw a spanner in the works for collectors and buyer/seller types...
I started collecting Alox and had quite a few nice ones from the limited runs but had to sell them on due to money woes :-[
I made sure I got my money back and never made a massive profit, it kind of pi$$e$ me off the way some people buy the limited ones with the sole intention of selling for a massive profit >:(
I was getting great deals from Tim and because of the buyer/seller types reselling for huge profits he had to put his prices up and I remember him saying how bad he felt about it but needs must when running a charity for the lil kitty cats ;)
I remember getting a mint vintage Alox Pioneer Harvester for about £30 when the exchange rate was good and Alox prices weren't crazy...how much would one of those go for now ::)

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

For the "cost" of membership here on the best damn site in this and all surrounding universes they would have seen Capt's post.  Bummer for them and while I'm not a fan of sellers inflating prices buyers really need to do their homework.  Maybe it's my upbringing but I'll search till I get the best darn deal possible when I spend my hard earned dollars.

+1 Well put! I often insist on a bargain myself although I'm not always aware of the cheapest price and some do fall thru the cracks.

It happens to me too Sawman, I have overpaid and it leaves bad taste.  I should add "best deal" is to each his own.  I try to get as much for my dollar as possible plus getting a great deal make the getting all that sweeter.
