Welcome to the club Mags.  It is indeed a quirky tool.  Sort of awkward to use, but I am not a heavy user anyway,  and I dig it :tu:

I have looked at getting one of the USA made early ones for a long while and glad to see that they are still being gotten  I always like to see Mons carry his and now I can see the pics of yours as well :like: :like:

I only really carry it for the occasional TBT though.  It's just kind of heavy for my liking, but it does sit well in my back pocket.  I may carry it this TBT :tu:

It's an odd fish. My first experience with an MT was the Spirit so just about any other MT is going to suffer in comparison. It's a classic case of function over form which is a good way round to have a tool, and like you said Mo, it's sometimes awkward to use, but at least it's sturdy and reliable and will do at a pinch.

Here's mine with the gang:

Yes, it certainly does feel tough and solid.  If I was a frequent user though, I may not enjoy it the same, but I think one could adapt/get used to using it if one had to.  It really is a good MT.  I agree that it could at least have a woodsaw instead of that scraper blade.

That would be the single most important change I would make - I gave up trying to saw logs for my fire with the scraping tool. I had to use it to scrape myself up off the floor.

Mine is Series 1.
Is there a "best" series, or is it just cosmetic?
