How useful are the scissors in that position?

I wonder how much hacking would be needed to make the scissors fold out from the end.  Probably not enough room as the backspring need room to move at the end, but it would be a neat possibilty.  Actually one could thin the end of the backspring to allow room, then pin the scissors there between the liners.  Hmm but then it would have any snap.. oh well. :D

Yeah, I can see it being hard to make that work. For me, I doubt I would be able to use them much in that position.

Quite useful. For me there are two ways to use them. I prefere cutting with the thumb.

I use 58mm scissors for quite small precision stuff so although I see you can technically cut things with them like that, I don't see it having an advantage over just using a blade for the ability to control them.

Hope you find it useful though :)

Not really a (difficult) mod, anyhow...

A more difficult mod...

A self made red Alox Vagabond. I tried to work more accurate, but it's very difficult. Maybe you notice one or two pins which are not perfect and some very, very tiny scratches. But this knife is intended to get used. It will get more, i guess. :)

But all in all it's not that bad for being hand made and hand peened.

Btw... more will follow and of course they are intended to get sold, if there are people who like it.

Hmmm...maybe i can get around that "no new tools bought until after the wedding" rule by sending you my Vic USB to pair it with one of the black 58 mm alox knives....
Would be a repair  or mod, wouldn´t it? ::)

I guess I´ll have to PM you again.

A red Alox Mate.... Ok the screwdriver has a wire-stripper notch and tool positions are optimized. But for me it's a Mate. :)

Notice... not one single scratch on the scale and pins are even. Nearly perfect, imho.

Black Alox will arrive soon. More fun.

The Hunter is really, really, really ready now.....  :D

It's gone so much rebuilds now, I can't remember how much I have done.... But after all these iterations for me it is the most useful knife for camping now...

I like this knife a LOT!  :salute:

I know its a well trodden path, and in fact almost a rite of passage in the modding community, but I've finally made my Yeoman!

Taken two days :poh: because I just couldn't get the reassembly right yesterday.Today it just all dropped into place...literally! :sak:

Pictures soon, its time for a well deserved cuppa!

Before any observant forumites point these things out...yes there is no multipurpose hook, and no I Havnt used plus scales.

When I was struggling yesterday,I tried a non hook backspring.Today I hadn't even stopped to think about it until I had the first two layers in place. On reflection,I couldn't face striping the knife back again, and in the end,meh...it's a hook

The scales were an ascetic choice. At work I now have three or four assorted pens to hand, and I fancied the odd colour combo. All in all, rather pleased  :D
