I have used a piece of thin leather or plastic with a hole in it to protect the scales usually. Silver Alox you can get away with a few light hits without it showing but Vic's colour anodizing it fairly delicate.
That's a pretty good idea, I'll have to remember that if I ever get enough nerve to customize one myself. JR

Hey you know where else that would come in handy,, when you got to drill in a screw and your worried if the driver will slip, and you push the driver into what you don't want to scratch..

Finally got around to this

A stayglow Victorinox champion plus. But that's not the only special thing about this knife...

They're staglow plus scales I made today. This has just made my favorite sak even better :)

I had forgotten too. I could never decide before if I wanted this knife to be stayglow or have plus scales. I found my answer though!

Do I also see the straight pin, or are my eyes playing tricks on me?  If so, great job once again :tu:

Yes there is a straight pin, these are full out plus scales. :) The pin was the easy part, I just made the slot with a utility knife.

Seriously digging the Alox Golfer- it has a key ring on it? If so, that might be one of the most amazing EDC SAKs I've seen in a while
