Grathr, I went back, read your early impressions and was wondering how is the Bushcraft Black is working out. One of your favs? You like it better than the 510 or Bushcraft Forest?

The Bushcraft Black is a beast Sakguy. It is definitely worth sticking in you BOB/wildfire bag.
It is my main blade when I am out camping, bushcrafting or hunting.
Did yours come with the sheath that has the diamond stone and ferro rod?

No just the plain sheath but it was just 35 bucks or so. I've seen that cool sheath though. It's awesome!

Just figured I'd toss it in here. Anyone who may have been skeptical of the new models(specifically the Pro S), don't be. This thing is nothing sort of wonderful despite me using it for things you really shouldn't. In the short time I've been using it it is absolutely clear why there are so many fans of these knives.

So while I've never used any of the older models, I can say you definitely won't be let down by the new ones. Thanks again for hooking me up with one and letting me see the light! :salute:

The bushcraft black is IMO in a class of its own.  Everything is a bit better than the standard Moras.

Now that I think about it, it is probably stainless. If it had bern carbon it would have been called the 511MG

Thx! Correct! It is the green version of the 546 (blue handle) which is the stainless version of the 511 (carbon, red handle).

It's one of my favs. Since I can't find it in the current catalog, I'm stocking up...have 2 more on the way along with 2 more 510's (also not in the catalog).

http://www.moraofsweden.se/products-1.0.127.2

The 546G, 546 and 511 all have the old style KJ Ericksson handle I love (think original 510). Looks organic like a vine or something and fits my hand perfect!

Here's an older KJE In Carbon..

They' re being replaced with the new style handle...

http://www.moraofsweden.se/construction/morakniv-basic-511

The org carbon 511 is still the best buy in the knife world. less than 10.00 shipped on the bay.

Speaking of the 511. I found this pleather sheath on ebay for like $5 some time ago that fits the 511 perfectly.

Anyone know much about this one?  I know it's at least 5 years old and I feel it's probably an older model than that.  It's just not one I've seen many references too.

I remember seeing those...think that it was a later (Morakniv) sport version of this knife:

Probably a transitional knife using up the old style handles when Frosts/KJE became Morakniv.

I have seen a few of those around here. Usually laying in a boat. Does it float?

That kinda lines up with what I'm thinking as well. :)

You know, I've never tested it to see if it floats. :D  I now have the urge to throw it in a bath to find out.

OK, a bit of google digging and it seems to be a Viking 660.  Interestingly almost all the listings and pictures I've found seem to be either in Poland, Italy or Russia.  A stockpile of older stock, or a market specific knife I wonder?

Here's the all time favourite of mine for sale in Europe, the Frost Mora 740 (I wish it was the MG version).

Along with the Viking
http://shop.recentr.com/detail/index/sArticle/1697

Very tempting at 8.5 Euros.

You wouldn't happen to know anything about this old KJ Eriksson in Carbon?

Ahh, ok, googling around it seems to be an older KJE 511 in green, discontinued around 2005-6.
