Spyderco Dragonfly ZDP189 Nishijin

I traded my Dragonfly ZDP189 and my Salt1 for this little beauty.
I know it's the same as the FRN one, but pride of ownership does not compare.

It is just as hair-popping sharp and perfectly locking as any NIB Spyderco, even if a tad gritty on the opening.

Compared to the FRN it's far heavier and thicker (it has steel liners) but also feels more reliable and trustworthy.

I am not crazy about the Hourglass pocket clip... really prefered the wire one as it was more discreet. Still who cares when it's sooo pretty  :dd: :dd: :dd:

This is my 2nd SAK, the first being the beauty I won for the 30 day Super Tool Challenge.  So this is the first SAK I have actually purchased...

A Victorinox Tinker, well used. I got it cheap off of eBay. Thought I'd try one out, one that I can actually carry and use.

Everything looks good, just alot of pocket wear.

I also ordered a new Centurian that I pick up at Walmart Wednesday.... LOL

Very noice

What material are the scales, please?

This new Sprint Run version features the Japanese Nishijin woven glass fiber handle and a solid, full flat-ground razor sharp ZDP-189 Powder Steel blade.
The name Nishijin references a specific weave pattern, used in the production of silk Kimono cloth. It is manufactured by weaving glass fibers (thinner than a human hair), together in a geometric pattern and then impregnating the fibers into polymer base. The outcome is a lightweight, ultra-strong handle material that has an attractive three dimension appearance.

In short > fancy glass fiber woven with carbon in a polymer base.

Looks awesome!  What do you think?

I think it's great!  Typical GEC quality in a working knife.  Out of the box it's even fairly sharp for a GEC.  I'm glad I got the orange Delrin--there's no way I will lose this knife, and I plan to use it a lot.  I like that the sheepsfoot can easily be pinched open and I think it might even work with gloves.  I'm going to put a nice lanyard on it and look forward to using it around the property soon.

In my quest to determine what is best suited for my EDC, today arrived a new addition to my ever growing collection of Leatherman items.

The Crater C33TX...

I already had the C33X and really like it, but felt I needed, at the very least, some decent screwdrivers.

There is a thickness difference, but it is not that noticeable.  The weight isn't either...

I can't carry it yet, as I'm into the SAK Minimalist Challenge this month.
