I have a KSF slip case too and it's very handy. Started off fairly rigid but has got nice and soft with use now.

i did make some pouches but had issues with material coming off inside and getting bits on the knives, i like the look of these ones as like to put my knife in a pouch due too loose change scratching them up,

I have a pocket sheath that was gifted to me from a member on another forum. He made it out of a gray sock. It works wonderful.  :tu:

These are my first GEC's, a Tidioute Congress & a Northfield Whittler, both with forged 1095 carbon steel blades.
Until recently i'd never even heard of the brand, but after reading all the good impressions they seem to make on various forums i wanted to own a few to see for myself.
Both are indeed very well made, and although i'm not ready yet to lay down my Spyderco's, Striders or Microtech's, i'm quite certain the day will come that one of these will go into my pocket as well.

kwakster,

Beautiful knives, and a great choice in that Whittler. Good looking bone on that one. Great Eastern has really upped the ante when it comes to production slippies.

Be careful though, they have been known to cause addiction!  :D

Very nice GECs kwakster!  That whittler is awesome, and that models seems to be fairly hard to find these days.  How do you like the size of that pattern?

These GEC knives, especially the jigged bone one, look quite classy, it shows what a fresh company can do in a very short time, they appear top quality and still have (slightly) reasonable prices. I don’t have any, but.....

Here are some more products from another fresh and significantly cheaper, company that I got today.
These were bought to try these patterns and see the scale designs.

A muskrat RR683, with green synthstone scales, which to me feel just like plastic.
Looks good, some slight finish problems (a small amount of filler was used to patch up one of the scales) and interesting file work on the springs. Also the “snap” of one of the blades needs improving; I hope some cleaning will help.

A Bowie series Copperhead, RR949, sawcut bone design, appears fine and was, as expected, the most expensive of the lot (we are talking Rough Rider expensive here..). Very nice shield too.

Finally a midnight swirl whittler RR963, the interesting thing about it being that the larger and significantly thicker, blade utilises both the springs of the two smaller blades, giving it a distinct tapering as you go from the two blades side towards the single blade (from the spring side).

As I said, I had none of these patterns or scale designs before so I am quite happy to have them now.

Those old knives are lovely... my favourite is an old Case too, but as it's of HUGE sentimental value to the person who gave it to me, it doesn't leave the house!

Got myself a couple new ones this week thanks to a fellow collector who was willing to part with these beauties. Both are Queen built Robesons, from the 2008 Pocketeze run. Both in genuine Torched Stag and bladed in D2 Tool Steel.......

Stag Canoe:

Mountain Man:

The Stag on this MM is superb. I know it's not a slippie but it's patterned of of a slippie.....so for me that counts!  :D

at the moment terry the ulster knife co scout knife, its a little heavey for general pocket carry but i do like the pattern a lot, the other also with rogers bone on it is the imperial easy open, the main blade is well used but very sharp and i like having a smaller blade as my main one as less scary when i pull it out, but 2 of my real favourites so far for EDC'ing are the casexx sod buster jnr as a real hard working knife and the casexx mini trapper as real pretty  :tu:

Finally got me a #66 pattern from Great Eastern Cutlery. Gotta say I really like this frame pattern, a subtle serpentine style. A bit small for my liking but a nice piece none the less. This one is a Jack version done in Snakewood.......

I love the Snakewood, my first knife done in this wood. It won't be my last!

The knife is 3 1/2" closed sporting angle cut bolsters that are grooved and pinched, and made from nickle/silver. Pinned nickle/silver shield. Liners and pins are brass and the blades are mirror polished 1095. Blades have good edges on them, backsprings are smooth and yet stout without any nailbreaker quality, and with blades opened or closed the backsprings sit nice and flush. There is not a wiggle or wobble in any of the blades and in general all I can say is the fit and finish is typical GEC........

........Perfect!

A sweet little piece!  :2tu:

Thanks Zed. This level of F&F is pretty much standard for GEC's. These boys know how to build a tight knife.

Trust me, my pics don't do this piece justice. It's much nicer and the wood more beautiful in person. The grain and character in this Snakewood is so pronounced, I don't know why I waited so long to get some.

I really like the pattern, it is slick. I do wish it was a bit larger, more like 3 3/4" or 3 7/8" but still real nice regardless. It's got me eyeing some more on this frame, both the Moose and the Calf Roper stockman.

I know they currently don't have any planned but I hope somewhere along the way they do some of these in 440-C Stainless.

I agree with you on the size of the pattern, it would fit a bit better if it was slightly longer.  It is a nice size in the pocket, but I carry mine in a KSF slip anyway, so some space is wasted.

If they come out with a snakewood calf roper, I might just have to pick one up.

NutSAK,

I'm with you, a Calf roper in Snakewood I would have to scoop up. I noticed on Mike's site they do have a #53 Northfield Cuban Stockman out in Snakewood that has me chomping at the bit. And a #66 Northfield Calf Roper in Cocobolo that has me quite tempted. Hard choice as I have been wanting to add some more GEC stainless pieces to my collection. But these Northfields have me debating......as well as the new Northfield "Yellow Rose" Cuban too!

So many knives, so little money!

Mike has picked out my next GEC for me, basically.  I just couldn't pass up the 2011 Conductor forum knife.  I'm not sure what combination I want though--I'm really tempted to get one with a bail.  Then the next one will be a work knife, probably a Tidioute #72 mini lockback.

NutSAK,

I was really looking forward to a Forum Knife from Mike but the pattern does nothing for me. It's great he is going with the 4 variations though......I'd love to get in on one but I just can't get past the pattern. When I had heard of it I was hoping for something more along the lines of either the #56 or #66 pattern.

I'm still deciding my next, I've been debating for the past couple days. My list just keeps getting longer.......I've got 6 GEC's, a few Schatts, and a dozen Case pieces on it right now. Not sure which way I am wanting to go although my GEC jonesing is winning out. But I got to keep some money off to the side for the upcoming S&M Heritage Series that should be released soon.  :-\

Well, my next GEC purchase was kind of made for me. I found a NIB Northfield Muskrat in Snakewood for a real good price. A older 2007 production piece as well, couldn't pass it up. Just ordered it.........

Found it at a dealer I frequent for Case knives. Anyway, while I was buying he had some good prices on some new Case stuff and also ordered my first Case Humpback Stockman. I went with the Smooth Chestnut Bone version.
