We got about 8 or 9 inches here in Virginia. That amount is a lot more significant here than where I grew up in Michigan.

Love the sheepdog photo.  Snow wouldn't bother that big thing much.  I've seen cows stand in water with ice frozen on the top.  They didn't seem to mind it at all.  My dogs always loved the snow.  I miss not having a canine around the place.  Not in the cards anymore.  Best wishes.  G

You're right psyjohn.  8-9" in Virginia is blizzard conditions!

He loves it Gary!

Beautiful — I can't wait to start using my SCs again. It's been fun trying to utilise the SI for different things and I love the fact it doesn't have a keyring but I can't wait to pick my SCs back up again. By the way, is there a name for those clasps that have the little thing you push down to release? The thing attached to the keyring you have on the SC there.

Antti, you're killing me. I miss my SCs so much. They keep staring at me from the table, whispering "de profundīs clāmāmivus ad te, o Artinī," vel. sim.

Here's my XLT. I may start carrying this again instead of my SC once the Soldier On challenge is over. It's a bit clunky but still within the bounds of reasonable, IMO.

I like the XLT!  It's got a lot of neat little extras over the regular Swiss Champ.

Here's my black scaled regular Swiss Champ.

I love the XLT. I know it's kinda ridiculous and has a bunch of tools people might not think are necessary (I'm lookin' at you, pharmaceutical spatula), but it really is an excellent SAK and I can confidently say I've used every single tool on it (with the exception of the backside fine screwdriver). The electrician's blade is one of the more used tools on there, possibly more so than the pruning blade — if only because the latter's tougher to open haha. I love the look of the black-scaled Swisschamp.

It's been on my list of SAKs to have for awhile.  I love the Swiss Champ.  Like you, I've used every tool on mine at one time or the other, and I know the tool set with my eyes closed    That electrician's blade looks ideal to me!

Thank you!  I have two Swiss Champs, a red one from the early 90s and this one, only a couple of years old.

The XLT, does appear to add those implements, that make certain SAK models special. Just getting on firm ground with SWISS CHAMP.

MY first was a new SILVER TECH model from the River site, I selected over the bottom dollar SAPPHIRE ($75)

I will admit, I thought a few times, what did I do

Then I had to quickly cut something with scissors. That sold me. The bulky tool fit well in my XXL hands and the scissors were effortless to use.

By then the SAPPHIRE River site deal was no more 😢

Found a BLACK scaled model from a favorite auction site seller with a special offer price and I bit.   Almost brand new, a scuff or two in the scales.

Then last SATURDAY a RED model arrived, a “make an offer”, challenge extended by a NEVADA seller, I felt like a stage coach bandit….  Complete package minus the mini driver in the cork screw.

Mission accomplished my friends, GARY and BARRY, I moved toward the light! 🌞

Hope yours is as good!
