Well done buddy!  I got drawn in by SAK Guy, who was a regular poster here for years, and Vicman.  SAK Guy would talk about how he hiked Europe in the 70s with a Champion, and that appealed to my wanderlust, and posted a pic of the SOS kits he had.  I thought that looked pretty cool, and came across one for sale for $30 USD.  I couldn't hit the buy now button fast enough  :ahhh .  That one got traded off for something else and I realized the error of my ways  .  I picked up the red scaled one, and Dan of Farmer X fame gave me the black one after he purchased it and wound up looking for a home for it.  I had always thought they would be so big, but I actually like the girth of them.  My hands aren't as big as yours, Gordon, but the body of the knife makes a great handle!  They're made like a Rolex!  I shined up the red one, and can tell you that polishing each implement is an afternoon's worth of work!
Glad to have you here Gordon, and you too, Tuisto!
Barry

Thanks Barry! You know, I have a Champion C that's very dear to me. I've mentioned before how my uncle sort of got me into SAK collecting. He always had one on him — in fact one of my earliest memories is of him cutting my nails with the blue Classic he had on his keychain. But anyways, he used to run a Volvo dealership in Vancouver and he gave my dad a black Swisschamp and a Volvo-stamped Champion C to hold onto for me until I was old enough to use them. The Champion C is definitely one of my most cherished SAKs. I'll take a photo of it once my wife wakes up (since I don't want to go back into the bedroom and wake her up — Mondays are her day off).

Edited to add: as promised, here are some photos of the Champion C

You know, it really is a neat little model. If one were the type to carry a Leatherman and a Vic, this may not be a bad choice for the Vic, since the only thing it lacks (compared with the SC) is the pliers. The only thing that slightly bugs me about the Champion is the lack of the plus scales — but that can easily be fixed with a (back) scale swap.

I love my Champion C....I wish I had the original a nice neighbor gave me in N. Idaho in the 90s. My parents were split up and my mom's new husband was awful...everyone hated him and this neighbor was aware of the strife. Sadly that knife somehow got lost in all the divorce moves and such, but not out of lack of care.
