For those of you wondering how the Mod selection process is done, everyone sends me a personal cheque for $1,000.  I cash the cheques then put them on a wall and throw a dart.  Whichever stack of money gets hit, gets promoted.

Mod selection process

From what I remember, when the need arises, older mods decide who will be the new mods. They all put their favourites on the virtual table and decide who will be the new members of the mod group, the chosen ones.

Now, being an english language forum, and looking at the makeup of the established mod team, you are more likely to be put forward/selected as a mod if you are from the UK or from a mainly English speaking country.

Insider tip -This also means that you are more likely to be moderated if you are posting during the times when the UK citizens are awake.

I do not know if bribery works, for the selection.
I will try it and report back.

You have one of your pictures in the 2020 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a LM Pocket Survival Tool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the LM Crunch  Multitool for fifteen (15) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the keychain for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. You have one of your pictures in the 2019 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year.

From what I remember, when the need arises, older mods decide who will be the new mods. They all put their favourites on the virtual table and decide who will be the new members of the mod group, the chosen ones.

Now, being an english language forum, and looking at the makeup of the established mod team, you are more likely to be put forward/selected as a mod if you are from the UK or from a mainly English speaking country.

Insider tip -This also means that you are more likely to be moderated if you are posting during the times when the UK citizens are awake.

Geographic region is important as well- it does no good to anyone if all the mods are in California or something as it means a good chunk of the day the forum is unwatched and nasty Spammers break in and try to sell you all sunglasses and Russian wives.

But yes, otherwise you are correct - existing mods and admins put forth some names, we discuss them and those that make the short list are approached and asked if they would like to have their forum experience ruined forever.....   :ahhh

Then we keep going down the list when the smart ones say no until we find the ones that are desperate enough for attention and authority that they say yes.
