I see that you, too, have a 154CM blade.

The new ones are sporting S30V steel, but I simply love this 154cm steel. What a great edge it takes!   :tu:

Definitely loved for sure. Haven’t carried it in a while. It does open quickly with very little flicking. And when you go to close it...it drops to a certain point and will not close on your fingers. I like that!

Opens as smooth as silk. Still has a perfect lock up.  :tu:

That sounds about right...I was thinking 25 myself.  It’s a shame he passed away almost 2 years ago.

Merit Badges Start a new thread and post a photo of an Executive or Director for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the pen for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participants shall carry and use one Soldier knife, the model of their choosing, for the duration of the 90 days and post a picture each day. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Delemont SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge thread and post a photo of a SAK Cybertool (any variant), Swisschamp, Champion or Toolchest for sixty (60) consecutive days. Participate in a challenge by carrying  a GEC knife and post a photo of it  for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo daily of any SAK 74mm or smaller ( you can switch it up daily ) for thirty (30) consecutive days. Build your own version of an MRE using off-the-shelf components, post a photo of the completed MRE and store at room temperature for 6 days or more. Consume the MRE after the storage period and post pictures and descriptions of the contents. Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of a Farmer X SAK for thirty (30) consecutive days. Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) Participate  in Challenge thread and post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for thirty (30) consecutive days. Here's my personal philosophy for a 30-day challenge: I use one (1) knife for the entire 30-days.

I think that's the best way to use a 30-day challenge. I think that's the best way to learn about a knife's abilities and limitations. And, get to know a knife.

So, for a 30-day Fixie challenge, I'd choose one (1) knife, at this point my odd little Ulu, and use that exclusively. I'd probably also carry a SAK, but only use it when the fixie could not get the job done. Anything else doesn't seem as useful to me.

I was doubtful about doing a 111mm SAK challenge. I used a big Outrider. Wow! It wasn't that big a deal to carry an Outrider on a day-to-day basis. That's the benefit of a 'one-knife 30-day challenge', from my experience.

I was just thinking, how many fix blade knives do I have...I think 3. The Randall Woodsman, a Ka-Bar that is brand new in the bike frame pack, and a Izula which is a 3 inch blade. The Randall Woodsman would be my choice.  :tu:
