A sawcut delrin, 194OT in carbon (bottom), an SC503 Scrimshaw in Schrade+ (top) and in between, a factory error 194OT (in carbon) stamped "SC503 Schrade". It has a SC503 blade from when the Scrimshaw Schrades had carbon blades, before they switched to Schrade+ stainless.

Bought that last one from the Rhett Stidham Estate on the bay.

Great old timer, old timer!

Day 13
A refurbished TL-29 today, it's stainless so it wasn't a military issue knife.
I don't think this knife had ever been sharpened but it was a little rough. This was my second attempt at re working a pocket knife. It's not perfect but it was good practice for a future project. I learned a lot about pin length and pinning from it.

This arrived yesterday

Day 13

 '77 Case Barehead Jack knife

(Image removed from quote.)

Be sure to let us know how it sharpens up, cuts etc.

Five minutes on my Lansky turnbox and it's shaving sharp  :tu:   It's a nice knife and cuts very well although just a bit smaller than I'm used too. It does disappear in the pocket nicely though

Thanks!  I normally like to buy knives that are more on the "practical" side, but this one was just too pretty to pass up.

As mentioned yesterday, went with a Sowbelly today.

These 5 blade, Rifle Shield Winchesters in Burnt Orange bone are pretty scarce....shame the shield was gone. Queen made with carbon steel blades and the price was right at less $20.00. Will probably get the scales replaced at some point.  Makes for a neat EDC as is.

These, I probably won't carry.

Winchester "Black Box" Sowbelly in dark Rogers Bone.

Winchester Cartridge Shield Sowbelly in Burnt Orange Bone.

And finally, A Case Bros Sowbelly in light brown Rogers Bone.

I keep mentioning "Rogers Bone" so I thought an explanation was needed. From what I've read, Queen and Blue Grass Cutlery bought a lot of it to use on the Winchester knives for Blue Grass Cutlery. The dark bone on the "Black Box" Winchesters (approx '87-'92) is also referred to as "Utica Bone" as it's Rogers Bone reportedly bought from the Utica Cutlery Co.  The Case Bros light brown bone is supposed to be Rogers Bone as well but I know no particulars on it...

Here's some info on the bone from Roger Manufacturing from Levine.
http://pweb.netcom.com/~brlevine/bonehand.txt

The "Black Box" Winchester thread over on BF is also a wealth of info on these knives.
