Good for you.  With the added Tribal lock it was really IMO a very good deal.  Glad you took advantage.  Will you carry yours?

Alright y'all.  I was minding my own business and not looking for anything.  I swear.  As it were I happened upon a site and saw a Tony Bose Premium Stockman AND Tribal Lock for sale, on sale.  Initially I was a bit surprised since the Stockman came out in 2018.  They were limited to 1000 pieces in a few cover materials.  Having bought a Tribal lock and loving it I was not sure I was reading the site right.  A Premium Stockman AND memorial Tribal Lock for what I knew was a really good price.

I have to thank my lovely Partner Catherine.  She had wanted to get me something for my birthday and fathers day but as always I told her I had everything I needed.  She was near the screen when she saw what I was looking at.  She asked about it so I shared with her what they were.

As she's always done, total support in this hobby of ours, she said get it.  I said I was just looking and no.  A couple days later she asked me why I didn't get it.  I said it was a lot of money and in this economy it wasn't financially responsible.  We've been fortunate, we are both frugal, both of which she reminded me of.  She asked me if it was a good deal and knowing I currently am on a Tony Bose kick if I would like to own them.  Of course I would.

She went on the site and tied to add them to the cart.  Nope.  I figured they had been out since 2018 and maybe there was only a couple left and the site hadn't refreshed.  Unbeknownst to me she kept trying till she got one in her cart.  A slight snafu in processing but needless to say they arrived.

I am very stoked to say the least.  She asked if I planned on carrying the Stockman to which I said H double hockey sticks yes!.

I am very thankful to her.  Let me shut up now and present my lovelies.  BTW I'm contacting the folks about the hairline crack in the Tribal lock.  It's a lovely piece and will only be displayed but I'd like one without the issue.

That's a fantastic story mate.  Tell Catharine that we all think she's awesome.  :D

:tu:  I most certainly will.  She's always been such a fan on the sidelines of this hobby.  Sure I get excited and see her eye glaze over when I'm talking about this hobby but she alway indulges me.  I appreciate her and as I got dressed today she asked if I was carrying it.  I am.

Whether one decides to carry or not is entirely up to them and is the right choice.  At 275pcs of this Chestnut Bone version I can understand anyone setting it aside.  I'm like that with somethings.  This knife however is one that will be carried.  I love 154CM and the Stockman pattern plus I didn't think I'd ever afford one at the normal price.  SHC ( I posted a link in the traditional knives with premium steel ) offering two knives for what I thought was more than fair made this deal even sweeter and cemented me wanting to carry it even more.  If at the original price I may have had to really think on it.

I just wish they'd do their nail nicks without the "eyelashes".
:iagree: A match strike works better on a long pull, in my opinion. But I can tolerate the match strike a lot better than the gaudy-looking "R" they insist on stamping into the bolsters.

And, as per usual, some nice carries from awl...especially the Bose! :like:

Sadly I have to agree with that too.  I got one of their Barlows and hoped it wouldn't bother me.  It's not a deal breaker, but I'd certainly prefer it gone.  :-\

I put the Tony Bose stockman into my pocket the very next day after receiving it.  Well, I did tune up the blades and cut myself in the process.  I'll tell ya what, those 154CM blades are screaming sharp.

I can't let this one sit and be remain all pretty.  I'm sure it'll still be pretty even with use.  I figured what the heck and have enjoyed carrying it.

While I do own nice things that I will never use (swords for example ) knives are for cutting stuff with IMO.  Preferably not their owners though.  :pok:
