What model number is your Stockman?

Unfortunately, I have no idea.  It came to me sans box and papers.  “Camillus New York U.S.A.” and “Rimfire Classic” on the main blade are the only markings I can find anywhere on the knife.

Yeah, that is an awesome knife. I am a huge rimfire fan. Love the rimfire cartridge shield on that stockman.

Great choices, y'awl! :tu: I'll go through the Camillus catalogs I've downloaded and see if I can locate that Rimfire Classic.

Today I went with a real favorite...I'm sure it'll look like LoopCutter's example someday.

Very nice Dan👍

IIRC on one of the social sites CASE is sharing hacks.  And one have for Carbon owners to patina your blade quicker, insert your blade into a POTATO, and leave it overnight!😎

Found it, YouTube

I’ve eaten a couple of apples (Gala’s) using this CV Stockman and the patina was almost instant even after immediately rinsing and cleaning the blade.

Vinegar will have similar effect.
Does yours sport the blue tint as comes across on the picture?

Yes sir, it does. Tinges of purple too. I’ve done forced patinas before using boiled vinegar and I have also put a blade in an orange and left it. The vinegar blacked the entire blade, the orange left the pattern of all the little juice pustules. This knife I am going to just use and let the patina form naturally.

I found the video on YouTube, it is by Case and called the “Potato Patina”

It also can help remove and rust on the carbon blade and then will protect the blade by making it rust resistant👍
